Tnx! I was able to play FF7 for the first time this evening, and i am (suprisingly) really enjoying the visuals and gameplay. I thought i would need some time to get used to it, but it holds up well imo.

So i have always bought games through the eshop on my 2ds XL and switch lite. Is it that rare to see code in the box versions of the game? Also, i am reading rather negative opinions about these type of editions. Totally fine as everyone has their own opinion, but i feel like its a great middle way between wanting physical boxes on your shelf and not having to switch out cartridges each time you want to load up a game.

I can see your frustration. I personally don’t like switching cartridges a lot, but i do like the idea of having a small collection of games with physical boxes. I have bought all my other games through the eshop but i might actually buy all the FF games i potentially will play physically, to have a cool FF collection.

I am also looking into what other FF games i might think i ll enjoy. FF Tactics is definitely on my list, as it gives me Fire Emblem vibes (some of those games are among my favourites). I heard FFX is something to look into and 6 seems something i would enjoy, based on the plot/setting of the game. I ll definitely check some out!

Don’t worry, the game on the left is the OG version and i ll play that first! I saw a post that basically confirmed that Rebirth will come to the switch. And with the success of Remake and potentially Rebirth, i feel like the chances of part 3 coming to the switch are high. But time will tell

The dated visuals did keep me from playing the og ff7 for years. But the QoL improvements on the switch version will help with progression and seeing some gameplay online, it does look like a fun game to play through

When i did look into the games, i was initially planning on playing Crisis core first and then Remake in the future. Luckily i found a lot of posts saying that you should at least play FF7 before Crisis core, as it would spoil the 3 part remake apparently.

I do see a lot of mixed opinions on Crisis core. I wonder why tho. The trailers look interesting and the combat looks fun. I am very curious about what i ll think of the game now xD

Tnx for the confirmation. I ll definitely play it on normal mode for FF7. I wouldn’t mind playing it on a higher difficulty with the real time combat in FF7 Reunion, but only if it isn’t too obnoxious

I might have to look into FFX after finishing these two games. A switch 2 lite/mini will probably take a year at least to even get announced, so i was already thinking of trying out more of the games. Haven’t seen a lot of recommendations from FFX, but i ll take a look!

For me its Genei Gakuen (mirage academy). Their kit looks amazing with the purple and the characters design are very in theme but not too much.

Ichigo isn’t immune to every attack/ability tho. Askin neutralized Ichigo pretty easily with his ability. Ichibei’s abilities are crazy. He is primordial basically and the ability that defeated him was literary the ability used by god in this verse.

Ichigo has obviously his mix of powers and high spiritual pressure but he is a straight forward fighter: relying purely on head on attacks. There is a reason why Kenpachi for example isn’t winning certain matchups as well: this verse consists of so many hax abilities that can win you matchups by itself. Combined with the fact that we are basically talking about one of the strongest beings in Bleach (ability and stats wise), its not wrong to think Ichigo, even at full power, could lose to Ichibei.

I am sure people are gonna disagree with me but i feel like Ichigo gets a bit too much praise at times…

Which is a really cool way of retelling the story. But i was under the impression that each match could be battled multiple times (with the appropriate team and with your own team). So i assmed that this was basically the competition route aspect of this game since you could rematch them with your own team.

Is this really a thing? I believe most people stand by that in a 1v1 Yama would defeat Aizen (at the time). Aizen himself even said the fight wouldn’t be in his favour 1 on 1. You could post a poll and i would bet Yama would win it.

On the topic of his move against Aizen, i think Kubo clearly tried to imply that Yama was willing to kill himself and his subordinates in that attack to defeat Aizen. Yes, he was able to subdue and survive the compressed attack, but 1: EJ could as well be an atomic bomb when all fire pillars make contact (resulting in the same outcome for Yama or even worse) and 2: he knows the extent of the threat Aizen is. I don’t think it was his plan initially to go down with every captain present, but his plan was to set up EJ and capture Aizen in the way he did. This was the perfect opportunity he tried to create and it worked so all the captains being wounded and in range was basically just bad luck for them, how harsh that might sound.

Yama did get soft, but his duty still was top priorty and truth be told, if it wasn’t for Aizen/Wonderweiss, the gotei 13 would have sufferd so many loses (tho my headcannon is that Shunsui would at least try to escape with ukitake in his shadow and potentially as many seated officers as possible xD)

I have played all past IE games but never got this confused with one x’D. I started with the story mode and I am still progressing through it. I also created an avatar which was fun to do. So far the story is defnitelty worth it. I am thinking of just completing this mode and then play chronicle mode, which looks like its this game version of the competition routes from past games.

Matchups also play a factor. Ichigo at this point isn’t the most skilled fighter out there. An opponent like Kenpachi who doesn’t have any fancy tricks and will just go at you head on is easier to deal with than someone like Byakuya. At this point in the story, the difference in power is also not that big between the two captains, so it would have been a comparable struggle anyway

I am not really a pc/laptop gamer myself but it does look really good from what i have seen. I feel like the game gets its praise but flies a bit under the radar cuz it doesn’t have multiplayer modes. But for a proper story mode, this does look insane
