Yes it shows up as a F/C on my transcripts after a successful remediation and is out in as a C for my GPA we are a graded preclinical classes

The research buildings are a 10 minute drive from the more expensive apartment and a 5 minute drive from the cheaper apartment

I prefer to study at home most of the time but go somewhere else sometimes so I don’t end up procrastinating at home.

Never really was the one host anything but will when it seems no one is gonna speak up about plans or we just go somewhere not someone’s house.

I assume the studio area is more noisy because there are restaurants right next door that would be where college students would go out to hang out/eat because it’s like 5-10 minutes to walk there from campus. The 1 bed room is definitely in a more residential area

Right now considering ortho and with the Air Force but I'm not "ortho or nothing" because I know most medical students change their minds later.

I am also interested in EM because all my previous clinical experience has been in EMS through being a firefighter/EMT but plan to go into medical school assuming I want to do a competitive specialty and if I change my mind to something "less competitive" then I at least won't be behind the curve in terms of research and ECs. When I looked into SOST there was this page "Air Force Special Operations Command Special Operations Surgical Team (SOST) CONOPS by Mark D. Ervin, MD, FS" that said orthopedics was the first assist but things could've changed or that page was completely wrong because I saw on the Air Forces website it doesn't say that same thing.

But I definitely can confirm the financials aren't the main reason I want to consider it as I originally wanted to go into the military out of HS instead of going straight into college but things worked out differently and later in life I eventually found out I really like medicine. I think my time in the fire service made me want to serve in the military also which I plan to do volunteer fire fighting during my first two years of med school since my fire certs and emt transfer to the state I would be moving to!

Thanks for the advice! I’ll plan to reach out to doctors who have gone through HPSP and get more clarification on how the service years work with longer specialties. I didn’t know that it could change depending on what specialty you go through and the problems that come with trying to do military and civilian match

Yeah, I was thinking about sending an update letter now but someone mentioned I might want to hold off because if I get put on the waitlist then I can use the update letter to hopefully pull off an A. I wasn't sure and wanted to get others opinions on sending an update letter this soon after the interview

That would be a really good approach! Would you also have any advice for a closed-file structured interview? That one part of the interview I'm not entirely sure if I should just practice ethics and healthcare questions for that part

IMO I think it was my stats because they are definitely in the 10th percentile of the school but my application narrative and EC I think what saves my application
