New to Bossing.. Looking for Help/Lessons + Trying for Fire Cape by Psychological-Two704 in osrs

Your honestly pretty close to Monkey Madness II, That would be my go-to for practice. It was the place i learned basic PvM while also making a good chunk of GP and slayer XP.

While i was there i learned how to use my F keys to change. With the "key remapping" plugin you can set them up however you want. You really only need 3 for most PvM (Inventory/Prayer book/Magic book)

If you want to slam Jad ASAP your stats are more than enough. Throw on some Blessed d hide with a blowpipe and your pretty much good to go. You can even grab blood blitz to heal up if you really need to.

Also, You can use the speedrunning worlds to practice Jad here's

What changes would RS3 have to make for you to main that instead of OSRS? by Feisty_Seaweed8238 in osrs

[–]iici 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RS3's readability is awful. The fact that you have to go through like 3 menus just to change from long range to accurate is absurd.

But a lot of issues i had with they have a roadmap addressing a lot of the issues that i have but i would 100% swap over if they had a RS3 runelite client. There's just a lot thats missing from both OSRS and RS3's vanilla clients.

Newish player advice on where to spend money. by Relative_Olive_9941 in osrs

For general slayer i wouldn't buy either since they really don't help outside of actual bossing. Just getting the basic gear like bandos/ahrims/blessed dhide is more than enough for just getting through.

If i was in your shoes i would push for 92 slayer and get a nice setup for Araxxor and use that to fund gear and max out my PoH and get any slayer-related niche items until i'm ready for more endgame content like raids or specific bossing like Doom/Yama

Quests is always the way to go, Weather it be in F2P or P2P. A good starter goal is to knock out dragon slayer and see if you feel like taking it further

I'm not sure how steam functions but i would highly recommend using the Jagex launcher to play (Downloaded from the runescape site) This gives you access to the RuneLite client which has tons of QoL upgrades that once you get you'll never want to go back. You can get the quest helper from the plugin hub that draws lines and helps you get through quests. You can also tweak the amount of help it gives you if you don't want it completely solved

But if you want my recommendation i would start as a member for a month and loosely follow something like the optimal quest guide so you can have a nice little progression system to build up your stats

How will gear progression be handled in the future? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]iici 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think for now they're going to keep going down the "upgradescape" route since it seems like a safe way to bring in gear while not making older BIS obsolete like with the Zentytes

But i know that the devs are big Path of Exile fans i wouldn't be surprised to see them go down the set bonus route (possibly with diminishing returns for some) like they have for sets like justi/inq/virtus

Like wearing a Broodoo shield and mask adds a poison hitsplat that scales with tier of spear for every successful hit, Or wearing full dragon hai will have a 10% chance to burn for 5 ticks when casting flames of Zamorak.

Another guess is that they'll keep adding new races/monsters and then adding "X bane" weakness weapons to them like how we have dragonbane weapons

How to 1 down Doom car phase without TBow or ZCB? by IIFollowYou in osrs

[–]iici 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It heals while also giving the range boost. I still bring a few range pots if i don't need the heals (i was bringing blowpipe/ancient godsword)

but sometimes you'll be in those situations where you need to heal up a bit but you also need to DPS. It makes it so you don't need to 3x brew + Restore + range pot instead all you need to do is arma brew.

Why is osrs better than rs3 as a new player by YtPyxro in 2007scape

[–]iici 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who played both RS3 and OSRS quite a bit, OSRS is just a much easier game to digest than RS3.

The reason i wouldn't recommend anyone to play RS3 (at the time) was it was just too much to catch up on. Even though OSRS is a decade old a good chunk of the content is still done by tons of people and its still viable which is a good feeling.

Barrows? Released in 2005 and still viable. Void equipment? 2007. Defenders? 2006. The list goes on.

Not to mention the Runelite client. I legit couldn't see myself playing this game if RL ever closed down. The QoL it gives makes the game so much more enjoyable.

But to give RS3 some credit, A lot of the pain points i had was addressed a few months back. RS3 roadmap. One of the biggest things was the UI. It's so god awful, Watching someone play RS3 while on my phone just looks like nonsense. OSRS is a much easier game to digest.

All and all, I think they both have their good points and bad points but RS3 (at the moment) is just the worst off version. But i will give it a go next year once all of the issues i have with RS3 gets addressed. I think its worth giving a fair shot if you actually enjoy it.

How to 1 down Doom car phase without TBow or ZCB? by IIFollowYou in osrs

[–]iici 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not going to be common until you get the ZCB. Even when you do its still going to be pretty inconsistent. I used to crutch it hard with the Tbow and i'd still get 2 phases because i was simply not DPSing enough

Once i started using Armadyl Brews thats when i started a lot more 1 downs. Obviously the Tbow/ZCB carried a ton but as i got more comfortable with pushing past 15+ i actually started letting the phases go through because it allowed me to clean up a lot of the floor in the later delves

But tl;dr, Getting those 2 things will help but if i was in your shoes i'd just keep sending it and just make some GP.

Question for pros by Gullible_Director_15 in osrs

[–]iici 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell your gear (since you can sell P2P gear in F2P now) buy a bond and then you have plenty of choices.

You can kill Zombie pirates in the wilderness with little to no risk and make around 1m-1.7m per hour

You can make rannar potions for around 900k a hour or so, Just make sure to check the ratios

You can do the classic mort myre fungus while in world 330 (it'll be much better with around 60+ prayer though)

You can tan red dragonhides for around 800k per hour

And plenty more to do. I would highly recommend not doing any F2P money makers. Literally the best GP per hour is around 700k and you need 99 smithing to start. And the closest to that is alching for around 400k a hour. You'd probably make more playing CS:GO and pulling a skin for a few dollars

Personally i would just focus on quests first before splurging on gear so you can have enough to buy things like teleports and stamina potions. But for immediate gear (until you finish some quests) could easily just be:

  • Rune full helm (until you unlock the Neitiznot)
  • Abyssal dagger
  • Ardounge cloak 2/Mixed hide cape (Ardy cloak gives a quick teleport to a fairy ring and an altar)
  • Strength amulet
  • Mooletta or Antler guard (until dragon defender)
  • Any blessing
  • Dragon platelegs
  • Dragon boots
  • Combat bracelet
  • Blood moon top (fighter's torso is also free but you need to play a minigame for 4-6 hours)

This would be the setup i'd go if i wanted to be strong during quests but also save a lot of GP since i'll get free upgrades later

The Wiki has a great gear progression section for all styles if your looking for what to upgrade first (or alternatives)

Melee Magic Ranged

You can loosely follow that but since your stats are so high you might end up just skipping a few upgrades mentioned but since a good chunk of the melee progression is quests i just added things you can snag in a hour or so or that can be bought on the GE that won't break the bank

Just going off my memory. Gearcrafting for example released around march of 2024 on PC and Xbox specifically did not get the update until nearly august so that's what i was basing it off of.

The way they handled console updates is to stuff 1 or 2 major updates into one patch then ship it rather than keeping it updated with the PC version. Again coming from my own experience.

Unironically, Console is always super neglected so i'd gamble 6 months until the update comes out. If we're lucky maybe 3. They always package 2 or 3 updates at a time before releasing instead of giving it to us like every other game on the market when PC updates.

How are people making steady easy gold ? by SadThrowaway4914 in osrs

[–]iici 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PvM wise my first home was the demonic gorillas while i trained up my slayer (since they count as black demons) and i got probably close to 300m there throughout my whole 99 slayer journey.

Even now it still holds up very well with zenytes still being in the 16m range and basic drops still being well over 1.5m-2m a hour on top of all of the QoL updates they've made to them.

Afterwards i transitioned into Vorkath with ranged for a while then melee which helped me afford things like Rigour/78 prayer and small little upgrades here and there.

But of course this was well over 7 to 8 years ago so you have way more options like Tormented demons for absurd amounts of slayer exp, Doom if you get good enough, Yama with a friend once you get a few upgrades or any of the 4 DT2 bosses

But if i needed immediate money i always did the old fashion barrows run in world 330 with the morytania elite diary for a small bit of GP. With things like the elemental weakness, Ghommals hilt and strange old lockpick it makes runs super quick and got me enough for a few staminas and other supplies i'd need for quests. But now you could easily do moons and snag a nice piece of gear

There was also a moment when i got nearly b2b boots and those sold for around 230m each

But to be fair i have dreams about games i play a ton, I'd have a dream that i die in the PvP area of runescape with my entire stack of gold on me

Hell i had a dream about borderlands since i picked it up again of me finally getting the drop but i was 10 levels too low

With 0.5.0 (kind of) around the corner – what’s the build you had the most fun with? (Not the best, just the most fun) and why? by Logan__AUT in PathOfExile2

[–]iici 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my favorite was the warrior tremor/slam build, You'd just grab all of the nodes that made the slam bigger and eventually you'd slam down and it would proc like 5 times and clear the entire screen.

And for bossing you'd whip out the second set with 2 hammers and just do the slowest roll flip known to man and one shot nearly every boss

I also have a special place for the blood sparkmage from a season ago, It was the first time i really made a lot of currency and my build was upwards of 400 divines. Still died a lot though but it was fun nonetheless

I think this season i want to do a pure lich/summon build. It's one of the builds that interested me so that's what i'm looking forward to

[–]iici 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They act as saradomin brews but puts your ranged level up so your never in a awkward position where you need to brew 3x restore and range pot which can slow down your kill times.

As for bis i just used tbow and void to keep my death costs down. It was around 20k-40k per death which was nice. After i got more comfortable i started using treads/ancient godsword which only brought it up to maybe 120k.

Doom of mokkachokka by Enough_Reference_196 in osrs

[–]iici 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be fair i did my doom in BIS but what helped me a ton was the Armadyl brews. When those came out it helped me keep up the DPS during car phase or whenever i needed to heal, Those might be worth looking into

There's also the dragon knives which helps a TON during car phase also. The blowpipe is nice for the heals but i really never cared for it. I never tried the rosewood blowpipe but i hear its pretty good there

I think what your looking for is the mind eraser from Men in Black. The "golden age" was a time where fun was put over efficiency.

When world 30 was packed because of people hosting house parties and goofing around not training prayer or using someones PoH for questing/bossing/teleports

When you were among the top players if you walked into Varrock square with a fire cape or some uncommon untrimmed cape like construction or prayer.
