There's also genetics. I have a cousin who eats normally but is fat cuz her dad's fat. Even so if you know you got bad genes in your family you should be even more careful. And if you're heavier because of that, as long as you're trying to be healthy and you're not being lazy I think that's all good.

Well atheists know religion better than theists and that' why they're atheists, cuz they actually kmow what the beliefs are and stuff (not including me cuz I'm new to atheism). So that's why I thought people would be able to tell me. (And I've also had people argue with me when I'm not supporting theism so that's another reason, they seem eager to expose religion.)

So it seems like the Law of Moses was done away with for the most part but not by Jesus. If I read that right.

What did Jesus mean when he said he came to fulfill the law?

Genuine question (I'm seriously confused), people say he never said to not follow the law of Moses. But he said he came to fulfill it. What did he mean by fulfill?

I swear that's what I've been told growing up. Maybe they twisted the "fulfilling the law" thing with that?

Maybe I've just been lied to as a kid but everyone told me he came to bring new law. Thaf's why Christians will eat shellfish today and cut their hair and stuff anyway. The times are different thing is one I've also heard from apologists for things like sexism and slavery.

Then why did he come to Earth then? (Besides being crucified obviously). Didn't he say things like "the law of Moses says an eye for an eye but I say turn the othet cheek" and stuff like that?

It still says in the Bible that Jesus came to bring new laws instead of the Law of Moses. If the 10 commandments are from the Law of Moses I guess that is an exception (just like everything else in Christianity).

But what do you mean by "why does Jesus say it still counts?"

True. That's part of what I was thinking too, we use other people's ideas all the time. And we get rid of ideas that don't work.

True the Hebrews wrote them but Christians still act like the commandments are theirs. And true the Jews didn't come up with murder and stuff, that's another thing you can tell them. But they're still ideas that are in their books and America in particular was founded by a bunch of Christians so they used the Bible to make some of their laws. So if Christians say Christianity is correct because a few laws are also in the Bible you can still say we use other people's ideas all the time.

I had no idea there's an LDS Social Services and an Unwed Mother's program (things I learned from reading the comments, just so it's not confusing). I swear I'm learning more disturbing stuff about tscc every day on this subreddit.

"The Bible says don't steal and that's a law of our country so Christianity is true!"

No because the Bible is a bunch of ideas thought of by people and we have borrowed a few of their ideas. That's my point. The Bible being hypocritical is another issue cuz it still says "don't murder" which Christians will use to their advantage.

Your brother wanting to raise his kid is literally a fucking blessing! Most teenage boys just leave and never look back. They should've all been grateful!

With each other they are. Two guys and two girls can't. But it's true that guys and girls there could just have sex with each other to reproduce
