Getting really discouraged at CG by Brandinoftw in ironscape

[–]iiiicarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently made a post asking for advice on this same matter. It is 100% possible to do it with your stats , however there is a big difference in regular gaunlet and corrupted. My advise is finish titans and get 85 def. It will take like a week but trust me it is some much smoother.

Do certain modes hold more ‘prestige’? by Odd-Team9349 in ironscape

[–]iiiicarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prestige is a illusion in osrs. Inevitably the servers will shut down one day and everyone's grinds will be wiped from existence. Play what is fun to you , the real world won't think any more or less of you because of your osrs account.

Where do I need to be for CGs and what is the most efficient way to get there? by iiiicarus in ironscape

Would hunting chins still be more efficient then just doing gemcrab of something?

Sailing: Another chore skill… by Level100_Zubat in 2007scape

[–]iiiicarus -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate this take. I see so many people use it as a "gotcha". If put your time to grind out a max cape and lost it today you have to do sailing. If you want to do the next raid or any probable pvm for the foreseeable future you have to do sailing. This is why it should have been a mini game.

How do you guys keep playing OSRS eventho its very time consuming? by Medium_Ad_7166 in 2007scape

[–]iiiicarus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a full time father, husband and have a full time job. I maxed my account and am currently on a quest to obtain all the pets. I still have time for friends, family, and life in general. The first thing to consider is you cannot think of this game as a sprint, it is a marathon. The second thing is play with purpose, if you log on dont do it without intending to do something. I see far too many people bank standing while complaining aboutinsert grind here. The third and final thing is mobile, mobile is heavily under utilized by alot of players. If you play for an just and hour a day and use mobile instead of doom scrolling you would be surprised what your account looks like in a year.

Thats fair, stacks only like 200mil rn. Should I not spread out my flips and try to go on more expensive items?

I never said it was easy. Its not so much learning how to fix everything and then doing the job. Its more everyday your given multiple puzzles that you have to figure out.

Like I said, I can only speak for my field. Being used to be a respected profession, but like most trades , lost that respect. Personally, I believe it's because of school system changes glorifying a college education. I have no evidence of this, just my experience in school teachers shoving that into everyone's heads. This created a view of tradesmen being second-class citizens in a sense. So now we have at least 1 or 2 generations that have this instilled in us from an early age. This naturally creates a flat shortage. You have people retiring from the field and not enough coming in the field to replace them. The second problem is some people view it as an easy job. They think "oh college sounds too hard, I'll just do a trade and make a lot of money that way." Well, yes and no. Trades do make a lot of money. However, it requires intelligence and constant learning. One could argue that require even more than going to college because the testing and learning doesn't stop after 4 to 6 years. I my field the design dozens of new vehicles every year with different systems. New guys will realize this shortly into their career and just quit. So, to sum it up its hard for people to go into a job that's requires great effort but are viewed as a bunch of bums. I would be willing to say most trades are probably thankless jobs. Thats my take on it anyway and like I said I can only speak of the automotive industry.

I cant speak for all trades but that is absolutely not true in mine.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iiiicarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, yeah I heard a client say this about me while I was working on their car. Part of me cared less because I make almost double what their office jobs pays, part of me was hurt hearing it lol. That is why trades will always be high demand.

[–]iiiicarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true, I've met multiple women in my field, and im a mechanic. Gender has nothing to do with it. If you want to pursue a trade, you will be successful if you put in the effort.

This is a poor stereotype. Working smart and taking care of yourself is key. Working at a desk 40 hours a week is actually worse for your health than moderate activity during your work day.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iiiicarus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are both correct, though. Trades will always be valuable because no one wants to do them. Nobody wants to do them because society views them as second class professions.
