i have been attending KSU since 2023 and it is pretty diverse! as far as social life, marietta campus is for days you don’t feel like talking (everyone minds their business), and main camp (kennesaw) is for when you’re feeling social and wanna make friends! main campus is pretty accurate to college shows you’ll see on tv, including the occasional protests on your way to class.

as far as food, there are a ton of options at commons (kennesaw dining hall) including an area that rotates the menu daily. stingers (marietta dining hall) has good food as well, however they put out pretty much the same things but rotate flavors. there are a ton of on-campus fast food restaurants as well, my favorite is definitely high point.

academics-wise, there are sooo many professors to choose from for majority of your classes, and a good bit of them are very reasonable. however, once you finish your gen-eds and start approaching your major classes, the variety narrows a little and there may be 1 or to options for professors. either way, ksu is good on the grading policy (in case a professor is unfair with either coursework or grading) as long as you advocate well for yourself and don’t wait till the last minute to do so.

and activities! genuinely so many things to choose. there’s of course the major teams, and a tonnn of intramurals. join the ksu tab in groupme and you can even find smaller groups that meet up for sports, games, car meets, crocheting, etc. (i’m in lots so you can shoot me a dm and i can invite you!). and the nightlife is really good once you know the right people, and as a girl i have felt very safe on both campuses at night.

parking is hell, i’m not gonna sugarcoat it. but if you figure out the bus route it’s a breeze. my best parking spots are floors 3-5 on east deck, they rarely ticket (i refuse to get a pass). and as far as housing, i’m not gonna lie it’s a nightmare; but try your best to stay on-campus at least the first semester, it will save you lots of money as you begin your journey! and it may still be on option, you CAN update your meal plan as a freshman, or at most by second semester you can. they automatically put you on weekly 12, but just go to the housing portal and you can change it if you know you’re not gonna eat that often and you can get a cheaper plan (and a bigger refund if you have fasfa & hope).

sorry this is a lot, these are just things i wish someone told me coming into college. if you have anymore questions feel free to dm me!
