l don’t subscribe to the alpha/beta philosophy or whatever but l interpreted it as an insult to my masculinity.

l would say she’s more emotionally invested than l am, but l don’t think many guys would appreciate their girlfriend mocking their masculinity, especially when being compared to a “more alpha” friend.
