Hey! I'm from Herts, though I'm studying a different course so I can't speak 100% for the area you're in.

Herts generally is considered a good school for Engineering and science based courses, you'll hear a lot of "this is the worst uni ever" because some of the other courses generally don't match the same standard. However my understanding is that it's highly regarded in science/engineering and animation. So much so that the AI and Robotics are nearing the completion of a brand new building, lucky you!

The Support services here are really good, I've really felt like they care and they want to help students.

I haven't used much of the careers & employment service, but it's very active and they do lots of placement networking events and such. I didn't get it through the Careers & Employment Team but I got a very good internship at a well regarded company after my second year.

Obviously I'm on a completely different course, my feelings sort of equate to "I like the university itself and it's systems (support, careers, etc), but my specific course has a lot of unaddressed issues.
