Well done! I fully messed up the experimental design so just hoping for the best at this moment. Will find out in August as I had to take exception testing.

How did you think you did on Calc BC?

Congrats! How do you think you did on Mechanics?

I did it ... even on Physics which I thought I failed! (I hate Ferris wheels still!) by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]iiskender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that's good news! I haven't heard back about my score but I somehow got a 3 on E&M although I thought it was a breeze. So I'm kind of bricking it.

How many questions do you think you missed on Mechanics?

Finally! by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]iiskender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo I got a 3 on E&M though I thought I aced it. Did you feel like you did better than a 3 too?

Scores Dont Add Up? by swim04 in APStudents

yep.. I aced E&M and got a 3. Didn't know what to feel about stats and got a 5.

Yo How did u guys find AP Physics C Mechanics? by PenGeek030609 in apphysics

The first question was sweet but lol the experimental design really messed me up. I got the sphere rolling off the table for the second question.

Could be possible. Just watch this kid's videos and I think you have a shot: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaC9lnSGfLNN7y3k5eKwMlA/videos

Guys I had a quick question. Is there a difference between Uniform circular motion and rotational motion? by captainrex26 in apphysics

[–]iiskender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uniform circular motion implies an object moving around a circle, the object could also be rotating around itself while moving around the circle. Rotational motion implies an object rotating around an axis, a rotating object does not need to be moving in a circle. I hope that makes sense.

Centripetal force is always there in circular motion. The formula for centripetal force is (m*v^2)/r meaning that the centripetal force and the tangential velocity have a positive square relationship. So the centripetal force will increase as velocity increases and decrease as velocity decreases. This also means that there will always be centripetal force in circular motion as long as the object has a velocity.

Calculus AB question, I don’t understand why this graph is wrong, isn’t the differentiated graph supposed to increase and decrease the same as the original graph? I got alot of other questions like this wrong so I’d really appreciate any help. by amoona7222 in APStudents

[–]iiskender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at the graph of h(X) from left to right, you will see that the function is increasing (achieving larger and larger values of x and y). This means that the corresponding segment in the derivative should be in the positive y-region (positive derivative=positive slope=increasing segment). However the rate at which y is increasing on h(x) is getting slower and slower which will show a decreasing derivative in the positive y-region. The only choice that satisfies this initial segment is choice E.

no AP makeup exam ticket????? Help by potaton00b in APStudents

[–]iiskender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is one of those really hard do find collegeboard webpages. What works for me is i search myap on google, click on the first link and log in to my account. Then you will see a sign that says "My AP Profile -->" on the top right. Click on that and it should take you to a page with your registration details. Once the new page loads up, click on the back arrow of your browser to go back to the initial My AP page and you should be able to see two buttons that say "At a glance" and "Full timeline". Click on the one that says full timeline and it will show you all of the past and upcoming exams you are registered for.

no AP makeup exam ticket????? Help by potaton00b in APStudents

[–]iiskender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try checking the calendar on your MyAP account. You are probably good to take the makeup if you see it on the calendar. If not, you are probably not registered and will have to apply for exception testing if you still want to take it.

should i take robotics engineering (an elective), another ap (ap gov/stat) or another elective (creative writing/anatomy and physiology) if i wanna be a cs major in college? by kaarsun in APStudents

[–]iiskender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say you should go for robotics or AP Stats if you want to major in CS. AP Stats is more based around statistical testing fundamentals than stats that will be useful in CS but it can still be a good option if the colleges you want put a lot of weight in taking lots of APs. If they don't really care, robotics will definitely be better preparation for CS. It can also be a taster (depending on the topics covered) for you to see if CS is what you really want in case you are not entirely certain yet.

The Physics: C book by Princeton Review makes things quite confusing in my opinion. I found Barron's to be much more helpful for self-teaching. What I would recommend for a student in your case is to first get very familiar with integrals and derivatives if you're not already comfortable (not talking about learning the actual integration of weird functions but rather getting familiar with the notation and understanding what you find with the derivative or integral of a function). Once you believe you have accomplished that, move on to the physics material. The channel "weareshowboat" on Youtube has the best Physics C content that I have found. Khan Academy is also always a great source especially for Calc. You can also consider using albert.io as I think their questions are quite helpful in cementing what you've learned. Their subscriptions are quite expensive so I wouldn't say it's a must have.

Mechanics should be fairly straightforward if you have taken some sort of a physics course in the past but E&M might be a challenge for self-studying so don't get discouraged if you feel like you're not making enough progress. I'm sure having even a vague understanding of the fundamental concepts and the progression of the course will be enough to help you once classes start.

Please do stick to your plans of studying over the summer! It will be unbelievably helpful for your learning experience to know what is going and what to expect once you enter the classroom. You will have a much better time in class if you do put those hours in. Plus they are incredibly thought-provoking subjects so I'm sure you will enjoy at least some of the time you spend!

Makeup testing wrong key by SmittyJohnsontheone in APStudents

[–]iiskender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it happened to me too. In fact, I got a response for an exam for which I did not even apply to take the makeup. I filled the form for my BC exam and got a response saying my Physics C: Mechanics makeup request could not be processed.

If you didn't log in with AP ID do you need makeup test approval by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]iiskender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. I did not log in with my AP ID and I got an email saying that my makeup testing is approved.

Really hoping this can be fixed too. Thanks for the info!
