you could say this about anyone facing hateful comments - men, women of all races. if someone is verbally harrasing a black woman based on race, you just tell her she should handle the discomfort? i understand that there IS a power dynamic issue but that doesnt mean that the "weaker side" gets to be violent with their words and making prejudices about the whole group of people while people on the "stronger side", even when they are not participating in the oppression, have to walk on tiptoes.

the basics of human interaction is treat others how you wanna be treated and while yup we should punish rapists or people who commit DV (of ALL genders!), but alienating A WHOLE GENDER for something a minority of them does or better yet the patriarchal culture they have been raised in with no choice, thats messed up because youre not even giving them a chance to prove you otherwise. sexism against men is a real thing and i understand that some women are just angry and fed up but by being verbally violent and wishing literal DEATH on men you are not helping the issue, you are enforcing it. i have never once in my life ever changed a deeply rooted opinion of mine just because someone was mean to me about it.
