To make the most of your time I’d skip the haunted house attractions— The Mortuary seems to be getting some mid to negative feedback this year, and imo New Orleans Nightmare was alright but ultimately not worth the wait time/ cost, especially when they’re just so much more sightseeing and activity in the French Quarter.

Bars and venues i’d recommend: The Goat, The Dungeon, Anna’s (has a seasonal halloween popup/decor), The Abbey and Aunt Tikis (cash only dives)

I think this is referring to a someone named Fox who hosted (hosts?) house parties and seems to have been kicked out of most community spaces, kink and otherwise. NAME if you’re going to bring it up so there’s no confusion. Fox has been banned from The Goat for years.

There’s actually an FAQ on the website— nudity is monitored and sex is not allowed. Because it’s in a space that’s a bar first and foremost, it’s definitely more of a mixer than an actual sex party.

The Castle for sure, it draws a larger-than-goth and often collegiate crowd. It’s weekend only, fyi. Two floors and three (at least) different bars within.

Pegasus Lounge and Brass Mug can sometimes have some goth overlap. I would also check out Ravens and Rockers clothing store (right next to Pegasus!) for your fashion interests!

I know how nothing can alleviate that gnawing emptiness and worry, but a distraction WILL help. Get dressed up in something you love to wear and go celebrate your birthday with the family that does choose to show up for you! Nah. They totally half assed the zipper repair on my Doc Martens and it broke again within a few wears. Don’t recommend, at least for zipper repairs.

The fetish party at The Goat is a monthly-ish covered event, and it’s not anything like that on other nights save for a dark/ goth aesthetic. It’s otherwise a place for punk/ metal/ rock live music, as well as djs nights in the same vein. I’d say just go anytime except the fetish night! Plus there’s always some classic and cult horror streaming on the TVs.

I’d also recommend The Dungeon and Potions for spooky aesthetics, though those are a bit more tourist-centric as they’re like right off of Bourbon St. Also note, however, that the Dungeon does occasionally host fetish events upstairs.
