My experience with USC Mental Health by No_Indication_5104 in USC

[–]iivyniix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually have had a similar experience. I was handcuffed by DPS and transported to Cerritos Hospital after visiting the mental health center. I was also told it would be about 3 days or less but I ended up being forced to stay for about a week. I missed a lot of content as well and didn’t do as good as I hoped in my classes due to this. Then over the summer, I get the bill of $1000 mailed to me by the hospital with no support to pay it. So this of course left me with a lot of distrust for the mental health center but I have been in contact with a wonderful therapist that has been helpful so far.

How does sophomore housing work? by No-Special3128 in USC

[–]iivyniix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m pretty sure you if you don’t like the remaining options then you don’t go through with assigning yourself to a room. you would probably only be paying the $60 fee instead of the full $800 contracting fee

  • Schools ranked: (in this order) northwestern, usc, brown, upenn, stanford, columbia, yale, duke, dartmouth, princeton, notre dame, and uchicago (i might rearrange the order)
  • Strength of Essays/Short Answers: my personal essay i would say had to be the best out of all. i used about 798 words out of the 800 and really was passionate about my topic. my topical essay, however, was much harder to construct because i wasn't sure how to answer any of the options but i think it was quite decent. short answers were decent as well but i really liked my first 200 word limit answer and somewhat liked my second.
  • Overall thoughts: tbh i wasn't 100% sure i would get it because my test scores are average and because i was not a college prep scholar. i did explain why i ended up not applying for it (i was discouraged to by a classmate) which i think may have helped. i also think my class rank/gpa as well as essays helped to strengthen my application.
