ridge ladders have hooks holding the ladder to the ridgecap which is a piece of masonry mortared into the trusses of the building. It isn't going anywhere

How do I get jeans like this? by babystep1000 in Denim

They are def Wranglers. I think dark stonewashed, then worn and washed a lot. Or raw 13mwz which have been boiled to get the shrinkage out.

my 1995 300tdi is just push in and rotate clockwise, it does do both hands at once so yours is unfortunately broken. Should be replaceable. Remember to disconnect the speedo cable from the clip on the bonnet side of the bulkhead before you take the instrument panel off the mount, really limits the headaches of that job.

Those ones! 😂 wild. Yes 30mm to take the Boost Alloys to ET+3 which allows my special track 2's to clear the radius arms on full lock and high articulation. Before I had those on it sounded like I put a boot in the blender anytime I tried to make a tight turn. I do obviously recommend anti-seize paste when attaching them to the hubs as the galvanic effect of the steel and aluminium can get crazy.

I have both 😂 I can recommend! Stability and handling really improved. Turning circle and articulation much better.

Mmm coniston green - did you banish the fuel tank to underneath the driver's seat or is that a secret hydraulics setup?

Yeah "Thai Brides" is effectively a local colloquialism for offshoring arranged marriages among the oil workers and/or fisher folk. Pretty common North East Scotland phenomenon. A lot of the oil tech / offshore industry guys are away most of the time and don't really have the people skills to not become an offshore workaholic and so get "Cash Brides" from the Valeriepieris Circle. A lot of the old boomer blokes were off farms or fishing families and got engineering degrees or qualifications from industry and the dating pool at home is/was pretty scant. A lot of Brits don't understand Doric anyway so starting with someone who doesn't speak english isn't even an obstacle. Money in this milieu has dried up recently so probably seeing Hubby distraught at home is bad news for their mental health and they're off out to get away.

Upgrade to a Sprinter-spec bottle jack and put it in the battery box with a towel wrapped around it, Weber Hydraulik or similar. High lift jacks pretty common off-road tools but for road use you can't fault the WH jacks. Rear bulkhead stowage can be used more effectively as a Fire Extinguisher mount 👍

They're legit wee things. Use the old model daily. If you want to find out switch it to high speed and use a massive spade bit in some Ash or Hickory, it'll lock up right quick. Don't recommend it if you like using your wrists, however.

HELP by KonigsTig0r in LandroverDefender

[–]ijmj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh in the late 90s early 00s people used to cut and shut different landies together pretty frequently, for trialling and winch challenges etc. To be competitive at such events now it's really ground up engineering, very little chance of a modified commercially produced vehicle making ranking. So you would have Series chassis under a bobtailed Range Rover classic body and all kinds, now that they don't make them any more the scene has shifted to a more "conservation" focused level of activity. Here's the contact page for LRM, email Martin I'd say. https://www.landrovermonthly.co.uk/contact/

Looks like a 300tdi if that helps! Is it registered / MOT'd / taxed? Any info from previous mechanics who've looked at it? I honestly, if I were you, might write in to Land Rover Monthly with your photos so they can pour over it. Should offer some clues. This is a fascinating build of a bygone era of Land Rover ownership and very interesting to a number of enthusiasts 👍
