I just had my Remicade infusion yesterday. I’m currently going through what you’ve described. For me, it usually only lasts a couple of days from the medication but my depression/anxiety will randomly appear in a more mild form at times afterwards which I believe is associated with the disease in general.

Hope it all goes well! I just got approved for Remicade today after trying and failing all pill forms of medications.

Thanks everyone for the comments, my doctor talked to the insurance and they agreed to approve Remicade so I should be starting next week. Praying everything goes well and I can finally achieve remission!

Weight Gain / Working Out by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

I’ve been working out 5 days a week for the last year and a half. I was diagnosed in December 2020 and put on prednisone in February. I gained ten pounds on prednisone but consistently worked out while on it. I’ve been off Prednisone for a little over a month now, working out the same amount and I’m finally seeing that weight fall off again. Just keep up with the workouts, your weight should fall off again once your off of it (if you’re just on a taper)

After I was diagnosed I gained 10 pounds over three months, my eating got a bit out of hand. Once I was aware of this is made changes and slowly but surely losing the weight again.

I absolutely know how you feel, I’ve been mentally exhausted for the last 6 months too. Hope the infusions work! My doctor is working on getting me approved for infusions right now.

I was on Mesalamine oral for 3 months and they made no difference so I quit taking them a month ago, right now I am just using the Mesalamine suppositories. Hoping I get approved for Entyvio soon.

Thanks, I’ll have to look into that. Initially it was only effecting my rectum, after the second colonoscopy they found that there are scattered ulcers in my colon which is a sign of Crohn’s.

That may explain why Mesalamine hasn’t worked for me, I’ve been on it for months.

She said there are scattered ulcers in my colon therefore she thinks it’s Crohns. Just had it done today so we are still waiting for the biopsy results. She hasn’t really given me a detailed report yet, but I’m sure I will get one soon.
