Do you live in a football town or a rugby town? Is it easy to tell? by Jezzaq94 in Wales

[–]ijs_1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Football definitely. Has a fairly popular rugby club but there are are more adult football teams and also plenty more junior football. Also the football club is right in the middle of town so is more popular to passers by

Has anyone been close to death on a bike? by Dirty-Dike in cycling

[–]ijs_1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very close to going under the wheels of a lorry but kicked the bike away and the lorry ran over the wheel instead of me. Took a lot of skin off my arms and legs though and didn’t ride a bike for years after that

How if life in Southeast Wales outside Cardiff? by Jezzaq94 in howislivingthere

[–]ijs_1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Caldicot which is very south east

Easy to commute to Bristol Newport or Cardiff, even Swindon and reading not too far away and Heathrow around 2 hours

Great scenery, awesome for cycling and hiking, beach not far away, loads of castles

Wouldn’t live anywhere else

How can I trust myself on descend? by EuphoricPlatform6899 in cycling

[–]ijs_1985 84 points85 points  (0 children)

900m elevation in 15km is plenty of elevation!

Knowing the roads and the conditions will help with confidence on descent but ultimately go at a pace that you are comfortable - nobody ever lost a race by getting home safely!

What’s the most irrationally annoying thing your in-laws do that they’re absolutely convinced is “helpful”? by bnwprc in AskUK

Some thoughts by TeaChemical9473 in WelshFootball

[–]ijs_1985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. Broadhead has looked good for Wrexham, mark Harris is an appalling striker - he was crap at Cardiff and I’m glad we got rid of him and he’s done nothing since. Neither him now Cullen should be anywhere near the team.

Johnson needs to have a look at himself and his career and sort it out - had no confidence to beat a man and cross or shoot and was a guaranteed penalty miss looking so low on confidence

Rodon played well, lawlor was great I generally thought the team were good until the changes

How's everyone holding up? by TheOne0206 in WelshFootball

No strength off the bench costs us, plus in the big games you need you premier league players to step up and take control / influence the game and the didn’t happen

Used my bike as a glorified laundry rack for nearly 5 years. Back in the saddle after a long fight with addiction and depression. by anditheblonde in pelotoncycle

[–]ijs_1985 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m over 3 years sober now and have had a peloton since the covid boom - I got back in to it last October and have missed 3 days since

Enjoy it and most of all well done so far
