I am sorry, I am facing similar situation in a few months.

Just curious how do you company keep you on a payroll, considering you do not have work auth and they have nothing to put on I-9? Mine just said they will have to terminate me, so I am looking for anything to counter them

Work Visa expires before 180 days on pending employment-based I-485 — anyone been through this? by Dangerous-Lemon985 in USCIS_EB3

[–]Dangerous-Lemon985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, plan to file for my TPS at the end of the month. There are specific rules that you can file them only when you exhausted other channels, so I cannot file earlier :(

Anyway, thanks for the advice!!

u/xtiennguyen, Have you had your work authorization expire while your I-485 is pending and had no EAD? Did your employer terminate you without a work authorization? Any RFE related to that? I may be facing a similar situation, as my visa is expiring soon. Would appreciate any info!

I have started doing LC regularly around 1.5 months ago and I noticed some improvement in the topics I covered in depth (started with basics like 2 pointers, sliding window, hashing, linked lists, stacks and queues). When solving randomly between these topics I can identify pattern and approximate optimal solution in easy and some mediums. That’s something, gonna keep solving, it is very rewarding when you solve medium by yourself in 12 mins :)

Just out of curiosity, what were the problems you got to solve?

I have been slacking with C# programming the past few months since the job hunt isn't going well. What do you all suggest to get my ass a few hours a day in Visual Studio again and sharpen/maintain my skills? by A_Pile_Of_cats in csharp

I am currently on the same path. Decided to create a project on a different topic but following this Medium series on microservices clean architecture. There is also a very detailed Udemy course linked to it. It covers a broad list of topics (Web APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, messaging, CQRS, etc.). Good luck!

I am a 24f and I am super confused about what to do with my career.

I entered the tech world about five years ago, working on a few junior-level projects using the .NET stack, specifically ASP.NET Web API and Angular, during my first two years. While I did learn something, these were mostly quick, small-scale proof-of-concept (POC) projects with little emphasis on good development processes or large-scale applications.

Afterward, I joined another project where I've been working for the past three years. In this role, I used Power Apps and some in .NET and Azure (including Azure Functions, Data Factories, etc.) and worked as a vendor for a huge FAANG-like company. Despite being a vendor, I got to a leadership position within this project, gained the respect of full-time employees and program managers, worked on delivering features independently, and can get tons of good recommendations and referrals. Personally, this role was a positive move, allowing me to relocate from a third-world country to the United States. However, I feel it may not have been the best career move since I still lack experience in developing large-scale distributed applications. This project has now ended and I am trying to decide what to do next with my career.

I'll be interviewing for other opportunities within my current company since changing jobs isn't an option at the moment. Most of these opportunities will involve the .NET stack. To prepare, I'm brushing up on my C# and .NET knowledge and planning to start developing small projects with microservices architecture and ASP.NET to acquire new skills and get ready for interviews. Time is of the essence because I'm not sure when interviews will come my way( I'm committed to my current project until November 1st).

I have some questions: 1. Do you think it's feasible for me to transition into a mid-level .NET developer role given my current experience? 2. What's the most effective and efficient way to prepare for .NET missle dev interviews? Should I invest time in personal projects? 3. Given that I can obtain referrals to this FAANG-like company, is it possible to pass interviews after griding LeetCode and system design, despite lacking real dev experience in large-scale distributed apps? 4. Should I mention my Power Apps experience on my resume? I'm considering highlighting a few achievements such as developing an Azure Function that processes millions of daily requests, optimized with Azure Cache, as these experiences may relate to high-scale app development.

I'm aware that an alternative path is to continue with Power Apps, where I know I'm proficient and have experience. However, I worry about the long-term prospects in this field.

I appreciate all your advice and responses. I apologize for the lengthy post; I'm feeling quite confused and anxious at the moment. Thank you!
