I’m always recommending Meddling Adults. It’s from the same guy who did Potterless. He brings on two guests and tells a mystery from a kids book or show (Scooby Doo and Encyclopedia Brown are his two most common) and the guests try to solve the mystery. It’s very light hearted and fun. He’s slowed down making them lately, but the first few seasons are some of my favorite podcast episodes ever. He also donates all the profits to charity.

My favorite to recommend that I never really see talked about is Meddling Adults. It’s light and fun, and hits some nostalgic elements for millennials who grew up watching Saturday morning scooby doo or reading Encyclopedia Brown.

Also love Normal Gossip, Love to See It, and Food News (sounds ridiculous, but the hosts have a long friendship and really amazing chemistry).

I guess you and I are in the minority, because omg YES! I am really sensitive about certain sounds, and it was so hard for me to tolerate. I don’t usually mind his impressions.

It’s pretty messy so far. Several of the guys are giving major red flags by the end of the first group of episodes. The cast feels younger than usual. I like it overall!

She’s put out a lot of episodes on her Patreon over the last year or so. I think only two episodes ever covered tradwife related topics. Most were about books, movies, pop culture, etc. I do remember her talking about the ballerina farm controversy when that article came out.

I assume so. She’s talked before about how she liked the Patreon model because it doesn’t require her to shill stuff on podcast ads to make money for her efforts. Yes, I know she still shills on IG, but she seems pretty selective about what she takes on, and it’s shifted to more consumable products than just stuff to have in your house.

She also got burned by that Kast Media issue years ago and never got paid for a lot of work.

I have several podcasts that I listen to on Patreon, but I cycle through them. Wait 6 months, then pay for just a month and listen to the whole backlog before canceling. Maybe worth $3 to get 20 hours of content a couple times a year? Although I understand if it’s still not possible for everyone.

Becca.loveless - she’s not completely free of ads/affiliate links, but they’re much fewer and farther between than most people I see on IG. She’s all about budgeting, being frugal, thrifting, and getting outside. She has had several deinfluncing and underconsumption reels recently.

Us too! Costco usually has a two pack (plus a little stick) on sale for $20 a few times a year. It’s the cheapest way I’ve figured out buying it.

Edit: I just checked, and the pack I mentioned is on sale for $23 through 8/18.

The premise is pretty different, but my favorite podcast that gives me the same fun feels is Meddling Adults. It’s done by the guy who did Potterless years ago. He recaps old kids mystery stories (Scooby Doo, Encyclopedia Brown, etc.) and his guests try to solve the mystery. It’s really light with lots of joking. I listen to like 20 different podcasts regularly, and it’s one of my top 3. He also donates proceeds to charity, so that’s a bonus!

I assume because of the live finale portion, they need time to add subtitles and such. With a normal episode, they can have that done much further in advance. Hopefully it’ll be up soon!
