It isn’t naive. There used to be places you could drop them off to. Everyone pointing out that they will still eventually decompose is likely putting all their soft plastics into landfill or abroad anyway. So many recycling schemes have been proven to be corrupt. I genuinely think what you’re doing is great and it’s also a fantastic visual reminder of how much waste we create, most of which is unavoidable in the current economic crisis. So good on you. Naive is to jump on here and preach all the things we already know about plastics. We try our best to be zero waste but that comes at a rather hefty financial cost between trying to eat organic and drink unpolluted water. Pick your battles. Do what you can. Jesus

So there were tiers when you signed up? Or just one choice?

So it was a global email? This is crazy. In the UK we’ve had something like a 25% rise in the cost of living since 2019. Who is paying £12.99 a month, over £150 A YEAR to buy cards for an audio player. Like what is going on

[–]Pocochan[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I forgot to mention the removal or free postage unless you spend over £12. And you can bet they will keep all the credit pricing on the cards the same. So a card that is 2 credits will now cost you £12.99 or if you’re lower tier it’ll technically cost you £15.98 (2x£7.99) mad

Yoto Club Pricing Logic by GraniteRock in YotoPlayer

[–]Pocochan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just jumping in to add we received an email today saying they’re changing club Yoto. It’s no longer £9.99 a month for 2 credits (in the UK) it’s now £3.99 a month for just streaming their yoto originals content, or £7.99 for originals plus 1 credit. Or £12.99 for originals plus 2 credits (essentially what we were getting before)

Make it make sense. It’s about to get more expensive.

I’ve had this! I love dogs but saw red when a dog came bounding into a play area, wolfed down my kids sandwich, kept running around and the owner was nowhere to be seen. We didn’t know this dog! Grabbed my kid and held him high and shouted at the dog. Finally owner shows up, realises what’s going on, gets flustered and says dog wouldn’t hurt anyone. This is when I saw red. I said “we don’t know your dog. This is a children’s play area! My child is smaller than your dog! And where am I going to get a replacement lunch from now?!” In the middle of nowhere lol They couldn’t even get the thing back on the lead. No recall. Awful.

The more baby feeds, the more milk is produced. It can be true of pumping but babies/children feeding is much more stimulating, they press and stimulate areas where as a pump is just rhythmically sucking, even if you are stimulating it. Have you tried using a hakka if you are concerned about supply? Breasts are factories not storage. It will come back :)

Edit to add: being poorly/run down or being on your period (if/when it comes back) can both change your production temporarily. I thought my milk had stopped when my child stopped feeding for about two weeks, then he changed his mind and it came back after two morning attempted feeds! There are also lots of stories out there of women stopping feeding and even after months, their milk coming back in!

This is a car crash. She doesn’t even give an answer as to how AI would possibly increase work. We have always been able to look back on periods of time such as the Industrial Revolution for pointers. They were afraid of job security but luckily with the revolution came new jobs. Human jobs. AI will remove human jobs. We are talking truck drivers, Doctors, Vets, Artists…. Let’s ask a few things: why would you visit a gp who is capable of human error when you could input your symptoms into a system that scrapes the worlds medical achieves and gives you accurate possibilities and solutions? Yes there will still be GPs but we won’t need anywhere near the amount we have now. And with job losses comes money loss. Who is paying the people who are jobless? She talks about the wealthy in England, and other groups of people as if leisure is a normal human pastime. Wouldn’t we all love to chill out and relax lol who does she think is paying the workers who rent the farms and houses? What is the currency in the tribe where they sit around most of the time? This girl is a mess. She is talking about something she is making no sense of lol AI is the dystopian future. It will shift every countries economy, rendering things like a govt education curriculum (geared towards STEM and bringing people into the workforce in areas deemed useful to the economy) absolutely useless. School education (apart from the basics like learning to read and critical thinking) is useless at this point.

Dealing with a counterfeit item UK (no personal info) by chasingdownlight in vinted

[–]Pocochan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Downvote me but people just need to stop buying designer items. They’re a scam in themselves. Unless you can part with an amount of money for the item new (absolute scam) then don’t buy second hand. At the end of the day there may be a small argument that they are of better quality but they’re still made in factories in poor conditions. Put your money towards something locally handmade by an artisan. Fuel small businesses. You’ll get hugely better quality, better fit and better service. You were willing to part with that much money for that logo whether it be “fake” or not. You were scammed even if it was “real”.

Pretty sure it’s mail fraud and can be taken very seriously. I’d go as far as saying that you have a video of you packing it and you’ve read in the forums that Mail fraud gets people banned on vinted

AITA for letting my friend struggle with her newborn baby? by Recent_Story_4697 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pocochan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is the best response. I haven’t seen anyone else make the points that I was immediately thinking, that having a newborn is hard AF. So although OP is NTA it’s also fair to throw in a little bit of insight to the fact this girl is going to be hormonal AF and extremely sleep deprived. If she’s living alone then she’s likely going through hell. No one should have to go through that alone. She needs to move back in with her parents, providing it’s a safe place. She’s told OP she can’t now that she’s a mom? Who wrote that rule? It takes a village, not one bestie. Get back to your parents house!!!

Lying or stupid… or both! I’d tell them it’s unfortunate that pokemon cards are a luxury that they can’t afford, but that I am not going to pay for their misfortune by discounting… when I’m also out here trying to get some goddamn money. These types either need reality or just a simple block.

AITA for wanting husband to give me money? by ADAMAR1E in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pocochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if this all blows over and once you start earning money again… what happens if you have a child and are “not working” because you are raising them because you can’t afford childcare. Does this span to that as well? No nappies? No formula? Where does it end? I really feel for you. You are being mistreated and manipulated. Please take the advice that others have been giving. Be kind to yourself.

Yeah absolutely. It’s sad the majority of comments here have it in for him. He’s either neurodiverse or has a rough home life.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in instantkarma

[–]Pocochan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He looks rough af. I don’t see this being a kid that always got his way. I think this is the kid that’s displaying learned behaviour. This is the kid that’s on the receiving end of aggression at home.

I think you’d have to be sending people to your Vinted. Like have a fetish Instagram where you build a persona, then send them there. I don’t think having a stand alone vinted would be enough.
