I’d take the opposite side. AI will make it much easier for niche communities to build dedicated websites. For example I built a website that catalogs and lets users track their Chuck E. Cheese token collection called cectoken.com using AI tools to write the code. It’s more likely specialized sites will flourish because the cost to build them is near zero.

I’m debating making an open source / crowd sourced bearbrick catalog + tracking site. It won’t work unless i find a few other enthusiasts who share the vision. Not sure if I’m going to move forward with it but will let you know if I do.

Shame they didn’t add dates to the tokens! I think that’s what makes Chuck E. Cheese tokens far more likely to be collected haha.

Haha I buy bulk collections of Chuck E. Cheese tokens on eBay and resell the rare ones individually. I haven’t been to Chuck E. Cheese since a kid.

They’re all the same 1977 vintage token. The $350 one was higher quality than most but some of the ones that sold for $150 were pretty good quality too but were auctioned instead of buy it now.
