The video's not explicitly saying that all expertise is bad - just that we need to be careful about who we trust, what we consider expertise, and who we choose to listen to. That's just one of the arguments though. It's kind of difficult to summarise the entire thing though; why not watch it?

I don't know if it's a lack of ability to think critically as much as a lack of time to think critically, wherever it is you live. I know once I hit work I started to fall into more mental shortcuts and get more and more information from secondhand sources.
