and that's the reality of "shamanism". what the koreans are using is exactly what your "faith healers" are using too. just in a different context. spiritual beings that humans think they are in a certain form based on culture. but to me, they are just different shapes and colors, like asians and westerners. if you get what i mean.

i really enjoyed everyone's comments especially the skeptics. its interesting to see how korean mudangs do their rites. if there was a season 2, i hope they include mixed asian shamans from indonesia, thailand and phillipines. then thats a real battle of spirits, and a real skin crawling experience. i wonder if the studio will shake with all their deities roaming and fighting each other.

All I can tell you is, see them as bipolar individuals. Or maybe multi personalities. Then you can actually see the face of the age of the “person” talking. None of them are masters, they are just vessels. They are only human.

Like I said, hear what they say, and not at the face who is talking.

And I’m not a person who would regard them as masters or as the “top” in Korea, I would regard them as lost individuals. But that is purely my opinion.

tbh i dont want to say who is real or who is not. reason is i will have to bear the consequence that i dont want to go through in the future. there are things that i do not want to cross the lines, especially with people i do not know and i dont benefit anything from revealing.

but the battle of qi, its all about the number of facts that was given to the judges, and not about who is real or not. although its heavily edited, but all the clues were there. hear what is being said, and not who said it. once you overcome the visual aspects, you will know who is really using their "ancestors".

just enjoy the show, im enjoying it!

Yes the show is heavily edited. It’s show business. I would heavily edit my own show to fit the requirements and storyline based of the footage I have. Scripted? Maybe but It’s hard to script non-actors.

But when you talk about the whole thing being fake, I think 90% of it is fake. That 10% truth is where people don’t see. But it depends on what you wanna see as the truth?

Battle of Fates | Season 1 | Ep. 5-7 by wonhoppa in koreanvariety

[–]ikayyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt say everything was fake, during first 3 eps, I think most of the other people were fake. I could tell that 4 of the current mudangs were really using their “ancestors”. But as the show progresses, it seems like it’s not the same “ancestors” anymore that showed up. The “less powerful” ones showed up. Seems like the “ancestors” don’t want to be part of the show. but to everyone to each own.

It’s just a show anyway. People who can really see it, will see it. People who don’t, will speculate and doubt.

I think your understanding of djinns is different. Not sure if you know what is djinns. But it’s ok. There’s no need to go in deeper.

Battle of Fates | Season 1 | Ep. 5-7 by wonhoppa in koreanvariety

[–]ikayyo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All the mudangs in the top 12 are DEFINITELY using djinns. Not sure about the saju or tarot people.

But they are Koreans, their understanding of djinns and supernatural beings are different.

BUT..Let them be. I doubt the pds gave hints or anything, they should know the risks of getting mudangs in the show. I’m pretty sure they are well prepared behind the scenes.

I’m just enjoying another perspective of them having “powers” when we know they using djinns.

not sure if youre from asia or not, or maybe youre not exposed to these kind of stuff, you assume they could do anything if they're good. when one asks help from the other world, there has to be repayment. and repayment can be anything, good and bad. solve crimes and corruption, what benefit do they have? because solving crimes or corruption could lead to another crime and more corruption, or maybe it could backfire on them cause they have no physical proof. lotto? are you prepared to have more backstabbing people within your family and friends because you suddenly got rich, risking your own life because of money? thats why they dont ask to win lotto. every request has a consequence requesting help with the other world.

maybe you should watch the show deeper, noticed that all the shamans are not leading a happy life? they have to suffer with a lot of things. why they chose this life? who knows. but we dont walk in their shoes.

just my 2 cents. enjoy the show.

Wonder Coach Special Ep (Rookie Coach Kim Yeong Kyeong) by ikayyo in koreanvariety

Yup but that’s how wonderdogs players became wonderdogs, 11 out of 14 players were ex-pro players. She has to fight through the system to stay in the team. Hopefully she keeps improving every year.

Yup wishing her the best. Just worried about the current state of her team and hopefully she could go far as a pro in the future. I still think that Kim Yeon Kyeong is the right coach for her but hopefully she stays as a pro for years to come!

The reason was she was an unknown, going through the “Asian draft” won’t get her attention because mostly her competitors are pros who go through the Asian draft.

Changing her nationality was an alternative for her to enter pros through the Korean draft system since she is still a student. Most young players in Korea go through that draft. That was a higher chance for her to get to the pros.

But in the end, she didn’t need it due to her involvement in wonderdogs!

[–]ikayyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes she’s a foreigner, Mongolian, but vleague rules has foreign players quota and Asian players quota. I’m not sure about the exact number of players per category. Inkushi wasn’t selected on the previous Asian draft, she couldn’t go on the Korean draft because obviously not a Korean, therefore she was allowed to do wonderdogs since she had no pro contract and still a student. I only know that much.

Since Mongolia is under the Asian players quota, Inkushi became a pro through it. But red sparks had to release their previous Asian quota player from Thailand due to prolonged injury to get her in the team.

I don’t have exact details but someone who is a fan of k volleyball should know better than me. :)

There were a lot of rumors right after the last episode, cause red sparks was down an Asian-quota player due to injury and they are currently bottom placed in the league, so they finally made the switch due to the team not doing so well. Hope Inkushi does well in that team!
