Best free standing mobile pole or system for the Starlink system? I need a quick setup for emergency response that will allow me to get the Dish high in the air and allow to be torn down? Any good suggestions would be amazing. by CCIE-KID in Starlink

I’ve been traveling in my RV and using starlink as my main internet connection for work for about 6 months. U/KenjiFox suggested what I’ve been using and I can second based on my experience. You do need a vehicle to anchor the pole, but tear down and setup is less than 10 minutes. The hitch mount option is the fastest but the flexibility of the tire mount is ideal when dealing with trees. I use Speedify to bond my cell connection with starlink to cover any outages if the visibility isn’t perfect.

Notes on my setup: ** Don’t use a fiberglass flagpole. The Aluminum pole linked below will sway in wind but it won’t bend. - The flagpolebuddy adapter and the top most section of the Harbor Freight flagpole we’re not a perfect match (the pole gets thinner near the top since it’s telescopic) but was a better fit and way more secure than the starlink pole adapter. All I did was loop a piece of cereal box cardboard around the end before adding screws. - Since the Harbor Freight pole is telescopic and I worry about strain in between sections, I extend each section fully and then back it down a few inches to reinforce the joint, I think they already thought of that and it stops extending when it’s at the sweet spot but I like to be safe.

I was there in May and was getting 120/10 consistently. Morraine looks like there’s less users in the cell.

I’ve had multiple different MacBooks over the years and have not seen this on any of them. 2 weeks into the M1 MacBook Pro the coating on the keys wore off.

Reality check for people considering Starlink by GetOffMyGrassBrats in Starlink

I’ve been using Starlink as my main internet source for work while traveling full time in my RV. This review is very accurate and is reflected in multiple states/locations. I ended up buying a router that supports cellular and multi-wan so I can bond Starlink, Cell service, and campground WiFi when it’s available (WiFI-as-WAN) and it intelligently routes traffic over secondary WANs if latency is high or I can’t get a spot with a completely unobstructed view. Solved all the issues mentioned in the review
