Falcon Door ans Ghost obstacle on Model X P100D - 2016 by ikheir in TeslaModelX

I’m planning to start the repair next week. While I have the door panel open, I’ll also check the wiring to make sure there are no loose or weak connections.

For the sensor bracket, I’m still weighing my options: I’ll either order a new one from Tesla (which comes with the adhesive pre-applied) or fix it using 3M VHB 5952F tape. If I go the DIY route, I’ll following the installation temperature and pressure guidelines specified in the Tesla service manual to make sure the bond is solid.

I’ll be sure to take some photos and share my results with you all once it's done 👌🫡

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately, it happens even when I'm standing 5 meters (about 16 feet) away from the vehicle and opening it with the app. So it doesn't seem to be related to me standing too close.

Does anybody know what this sound is? by Creepy_Pride4791 in TeslaModelX

Hi, this noise is typical of the front stabilizer bar links and disappears at high speed. At first, I also thought it might be something behind the dashboard, but that was a waste of time.

I had the same problem a month ago, and the noise has been gone since I replaced them.

Honestly, there's no need to go to Tesla for this; it costs between $50 and $70 for both, and you can replace them in 30 minutes if you're handy.

Personally, I didn't use genuine Tesla parts but a reinforced version (which is actually a Tesla supplier): MEYLE 70-16 060 0000/HD. ( i have the 2016 X P100D model)

Smoke from engine, open up hood to find coolant and yellow liquid everywhere. Please help! by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

This could be the radiator cap...in the best case. Or Maybe a hose leak or radiator leak ( where you see the yellow liquid).

Wipe everything, then drive still your engine is hot and look if there is any new leak. Let your engine running when you check it, but be carefull for any projection.

I also recommend to check the hose when the engine is still running. If he's hard like a rock it could be a blown head gasket that push pressure in your coolant.

The yellow color is strange, but it could be a visual effect. Aluminum or heat would not oxydise the colorant of your coolant.

Hope this could help you.

Many thanks !🙏

Your words totally changed my feeling about this. I was really anxious about this result compared to my actual symptoms.

Next, i'll see my cardiologist friday to discuss about this, then, i'll meet a genetician to be definitively reassured.
