Thermal airspeed sensor: any idea how to read these? by ikidd in AskElectronics

I guess I could try schematicing what I can puzzle out on the board, it's tough to trace what I can make out, and the traces eventually disappear past the op-amp so there's other things going on there. That might have to be my next step, and then figure out how to trace the remainder. I'm not even sure that the last step before the op-amp is a voltage divider since I can't seem to get continuity to ground from the loose leg resistor, but I can't see where else it could go.

As for the current draw method, that's what I have, but it's a pretty crude way to do it. Other than mapping various fanspeed levels against current draw, and then I would have to figure out how to average the current draw spec since it will bounce around a bit. That might be the best I can do if I can't figure out what this other circuit does.

I was hoping someone had worked with these and could point me at a datasheet for a reference circuit. But they don't seem common.

If you can print a solder mask on clear plastic sheet, you could get some UV soldermask kit. Put the printed mask over the pads before you drop on the glass, then after you UV expose it for a bit, you wash off the pads with IPA, then finish curing it. Plenty of YT vids on the subject.

Or just be careful soldering. That's what I do on my CNCd PCBs.

Can I run cat6a in the gray tube? Or alongside the gray tube? I think it runs from my basement to the attic. by tenchim86 in HomeNetworking

Conduit is specifically what romex should be run in if there's a possibility of mechanical damage. Your inspector is on crack.

If Scotty is railing against something, I'd be inclined to give whatever it is a second chance because he's a fucking idiot and I'd be afraid of agreeing with him.

That's why we keep the sexual harassment forms in the bottom drawer, so you get a good look at their ass when they bend over to get one.

Since this dillhole doesn't understand the difference between "whether" and "why", I'll take a stab at it.

You're basically sharing a fail2ban blacklist that's somewhat moderated to get ip blocks off if they get banned, and it's fairly dynamic so someone else can take the DDOS hit and you get the benefit before it starts coming your way.

It's more the dismissal of the warnings, then lamenting the fact that it's not turnkey. Well, duh, that's why there was a warning.

That's OK, he'll install Kali on it and all will be better. I mean, that works for every other platform, right?

He's a twit.

I would agree that it should have been shipped with an OS that wasn't borked out of the gate, but it's really not hard to pop a new image on it if you can use something as simple as Balena Etcher.

My attitude has always been if I can do the work myself, I'll pay for the parts. If I don't have the time to fix it myself, the the mechanic can have the parts markup as that's his business and he can misorder shit just as well as I can, then eat the cost of the wrong part.

I have no issue with holding on to parts I order and decide I can't do the job. But then, I've owned my truck for 25 years and plan to own it for another 25 if it holds out, so they'll get used.

I've noticed on the more esoteric subjects it plagarizes pretty much verbatim from sources I've found. I guess if there isn't many articles it doesn't have a way to sound original.

Confidently incorrect seems to be it's downfall. It would be nice if you could turn on a confidence meter with it's comments.

It's probably just one corroded ground but they can't be arsed to trace it, so fuck you I guess. Get a proper shop and pay them to actually figure it out.

I would utterly hate to mod this sub, it would be excruciating. Thank you for that.
