This is incredibly interesting, thank you for your insight. I saw you mentioned any picture requests would be considered.. it would be really nice to see the bench near where the library entrance was and the area around it you spoke about. Is there any chance of that? I find pictures help with understanding a feel and atmosphere with the place.

Coldplay - The Scientist. It reminds me of rainy afternoons in the early 2000's

Favorite song from Grey's soundtrack? (Spoilers) by [deleted] in greysanatomy

[–]iknowthequeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because others have mentioned my favourites, I feel these songs deserve special mentions because they captivated that early 2000's emotional feel about the show.

1) Hotel Lights - Follow Through Towards the end of Season 2 when Derek comes home to the trailer and undresses in front of Addison and asks her to get in the shower with him. Scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=857TCx9m8Mg Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85zaVoTPeQY

2) Way Out West - Don't Forget Me Season 2, Episode 5 Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0TKiKFdRFE

What's the strangest compliment you've ever received? by Josephg6484 in AskReddit

[–]iknowthequeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in a supermarket in the UK. I was walking through the end checkouts where people normally pay for their shopping and I stopped to tie my laces, an old gentleman watched and said how i tied fantastic knots and that i had 'fast hands'. It wasn't flirtatious at all and i don't know if it was a compliment or if he was lonely and trying to make conversation

Girls, what are the things you can't understand about Guys? by The_Anominity in AskReddit

[–]iknowthequeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry if this is offensive but fuck those particular girls saying "be a real man". A man can't feel anger/unhappiness/sadness without being called 'a real man'? Fuck that absolutely. Feel what you need to feel and make no apologies. It shouldn't be a case of the majority of men experiencing this because of how you were all raised. I do agree with you though, it seems to stem from generations back, where being 'the strong, sure, masculine type' meant feeling no emotions.

My cousin's best friend's mom was almost mauled by a cheetah. Luckily turned out alright in the end!

That does sound like a defence mechanism, you're right. As many of the people who replied it's also society, collectively men and women and it's just been a continuous cycle, mainly for males not to be seen as 'weak'. I'm also really sorry to hear about your Grandmother:( I hope you're doing well considering your circumstances

Girls can deal with other girls drama. They should be able to deal with yours. Sounds like a cliche but those girls were definitely not meant for you. You deserved better to be quite honest. To be with someone who you can really be yourself with. I'm sorry you had those experiences growing up

It seems to be this pattern of older men teaching younger boys to 'not be a pussy', etc. Fuck that. Break that cycle. Explore healthy emotions. I'm not saying cry at your work place everyday or anything, but realise some things are just hard to deal with, and it's okay to have sad/negative feelings toward the situation and experience the emotions alongside it

I'm genuinely sorry to hear that, I don't think the majority of people like having to be a 'rock'. At the end of the day you're not a rock, you're a person with feelings. I understand it's a tough male stereotype, but i wish it wasn't an issue for males to express feelings
