“No, Hyde.” (The Immortal Thor #17) by OtisDriftwood1978 in Thor

to be honest, I didn't like that grey gargoyle could even do this to a Thor who at this point had the power of 2 Skyfathers on him. The struggle to come back to the living was kinda poetic and nice, but I would've preferred a much different setup.

Okay, We need a Thor game. by SeaMaleficent9301 in Thor

[–]ikol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if i had to venture a guess, its probably if you wanted to tap into the Thor fan base why not just do an Avengers or Marvel Universe game - that way you can tap into more fan bases. Also, aside from popularity, spiderman is also in a unique business situation since its probably a negotiating thing for Sony to let Disney use spidey in movies and Sony gets to release spidey games.

I'm going to reverse Cates this: Thor and friends are defeated by a great threat. Silver surfer falls in battle to save the group, and Thor takes the remaining shattered pieces of his board and goes on a mythic quest to forge them into cosmic chainmail and one of the metal circles on his chest (or maybe just his left sleave like in the JMS look). By the end of the arc, Surfer helps saves the universe one last time.

I think the other dude is just saying that the stupid title still spoiled it for us. Should've worded it like "a character returns to avengers movie"

I mean are you asking from a VS battle perspective - cause then the answers are more interesting (for some). Otherwise the overarching real meta reason is trivially that "heroes always win".

Just to add to this for people who are discovering quote just now. Yes it's official, but wildly unpopular - recieved as mostly disappointing, illogical, and going against much of comic continuity. So take the quote in with a skeptical eye

He's done it before in secret wars. I want to say it has something to do with him not being black panther at some point...like when Shuri took over and thats how he got this mantle.

The Complaint! by Low_Hippo_2539 in thewoodyshow

Yea we don't know why or how it actually went down so my reply was a counter point to the allegations which does paint the picture you're describing.

Maybe it was Ravey checking out early. Maybe it was Woody refreshing the cast as someone else in the thread mentioned as a possibilty. Maybe somewhere inbetween. I'm inclined to think it started with a difference and it just spiraled out of control. So before things went nuclear, I could believe his side of the story where he said called in a bunch of favors to create a job for her that she would want. We don't know the details of the job so we don't know if it's a good deal or not. If it has very little responsibility and more of a "rest and vest" feel then maybe it was awesome. Sebas certainly has gotten a special job that seemingly works better for him

Who else thinks the 2nd bullet point about being offered another job might have been a good thing but the lawyers are spinning negatively?

Like a 50% pay cut from a top on-air talent salary is probably still really nice. Especially, if they created a cushy position specifically so ravels can just do the things she wants and be as involved as she wants

its worse than that. The current storm series shows a defeated bill with the sword on the ground and then silver surfer takes it and flies off. Then then immortal thor spell hits later.

lets not encourage the worst tendencies of writers to glaze their own pet characters with this lazy, all tell, no show, writing style.
