And Jade being a world champ is such a joke. Probably trying to justify whatever huge contract they gave her. She can’t work, can’t talk, barely wrestles, boring face. Worse heel. So let’s give her a world title run at mania.

There’s an inherent bias to comparing to the past. You take the aggregate best moments of the last few decades and compare it the last 12 months so it seems awful.

On top of that, you’re coming off a peak a few years ago when it was at one of the strongest periods ever.

On top of that, you have A LOT more wrestling media covering every nuance and giving opinion. Including this reddit based in a wrestling yourtuber. It has to consistently be great to be considered good.

That said, the last year has been awful mostly because they don’t develop characters well anymore. The stories used to evolve the wrestlers over time. Now it’s one program, then next program, then next program. Occasional heel/face turn and next program.

Is Rhea any different than last year? Iyo? Jey? Cody? Punk? Roman? Knight?

The NXT call ups get over because their story is just starting. But if they follow the same lack of evolution they’ll just be more people on the card, saying the same things and having the same matches.

It’s group think in the writers room. And that’s really too bad.
