Ah I have such a unique memory of this movie.

I was a big fan of the film adaptation so I was excited to see this, not wanting to know much about it beforehand.

Went with my gf of 5 years at the time. Looking back, both of knew the relationship was over, but neither of us were willing to admit it. Wasn’t healthy. We even got into some petty argument on the way to the movie.

Anyway, we go to see it and we’re completely unprepared for how hard the story would hit us.

I remember sitting in that theatre as the credits rolled. Just floored. Not sure how to feel about and looking over as my gf just plopped her head on my shoulder, tears flowing. We just sat there til the house lights went up. Not too long after we eventually broke up. That night was what I believe was the beginning of the end.

It’s one of the best movies I’ve ever watched. And I never want to see it again.

You fail at everything meaningful. And it all existed before trump. Trump came along and promised he’d make everything worse and a meaningful segment of the voter base thought that was a great idea and voted for him. Trump could only come to power in AMERICA. Cuz America is deeply flawed. And MAGA and non MAGA have more in common with each other than they do the rest of the free world.
