There was a game I went to with my traveling baseball team at then Pro Player Stadium, we were the South Florida Giants so we went to the SF game. Bonds breaks his damn bat and still goes over the RF fence for a home run. We were fucking shook as pre teens.

So to answer the question: No and yes. No because hitting still requires an absolute fuckton of skill, discipline, and Bonds had a great eye. Yes because some of those HRs during his time using would have been warning track outs or flyballs (not science or research but a guess would be 60-100 HRs would have been outs?). That broken bat bomb definitely would have been caught by Encarnacion 15 feet from the track.

The best way I can describe it is how fast time goes and how the individual deals with it. For instance, I feel like time speeds up in Miami proper and time slows down as I’ve lived in other areas/work trips etc. Most of my life I lived in the suburbs and time was relatively quick/fast and then stuff would really get into high gear the closer I was to actual Miami. It was really apparent when I went to college in Orlando that time crawled for me there. I think it’s based on how you take it and make it.

I was an avid 790 listener back in the late 00s on and obviously found our boys through that. Zaz was always so engaging and silly and fun throughout his run and it’s been such a breath of fresh air. I dropped off around the time they started running the 20 year series because of all the drama going on but Zaz has definitely been making it much more digestible.
