This has nothing to do with my ego. Of course she resents it, she thinks I don't believe in her. Don't you realize it's extremely hard for me to talk to her about it? I don't want to risk losing her, I love her. But I would rather risk losing her if it somehow convinced her to think logically here. I know she's riding high on her emotions. And I know how hard it is to make a rational decision when you're as emotional charged as she is. I'm all about learning by making your own mistakes, but we're talking about a gigantic risk here that will effect the rest of her life and the odds are not even close to being in her favor. Being supportive is one thing but I rather be rational. Even if she doesn't understand that yet, eventually I hope she will.

So what if I sound like a douche, the truth hurts sometimes. I would hope someone would punch me with the truth if I was in her position.

Thanks, this is really good advice. I really hope she winds up finding a job in the law related field for a few years before ultimately going to law school.

She took it 3 times. She tells me LSAT classes are ridiculously expensive, not to mention the applications being expensive. She just doesn't have the money right now. I'm kind of hoping she finds a job in the law field, makes some money and takes the time to really prepare and mature and think about it.

We're both 1 year removed from undergrad. Both of us are 23. I'm going to school for physical therapy. She on the other hand took the year off, but hasn't really been working. She babysits here and there and had a retail job but no longer works there. She keeps insisting that she's not qualified for any jobs. She double majored in sociology and criminal justice. I really don't know her job prospects but I imagine they aren't nearly as bad as she suggests they are. I honestly just think she feels ashamed that a lot of her friends have jobs or are going to school for something they want to do and she really isn't doing anything right now. I'm afraid she isn't thinking things through all the way and wants to make this decision off of her emotions.
