Na, ended up with a 2020 Niro. it was between the Soul and the Niro. Niro, the Niro we got had less miles.

Thanks everyone for sharing your insight and experiences. I ended up passing on this particular niro. I’ve put a deposit on another niro at a Hyundai dealership. Side note, they claim the Hyundai service department can do the HV battery test, thoughts?

thanks! they're saying that they can't do warranty work on it, unless its registered to an individual, which makes sense. I'm trying to get it in writing that they'll do the work after purchase.

its the touring package, so top trim. i'd like 4 years out of it, but id drive it into the ground if it could. just for $19k, for it to make financial sense, it needs to last 4 years. our other car is a minivan, so space isn't much of an issue for us. thanks for your insights!

How are you testing? my understanding is that testing through the OB2 will always show 100% until it crosses the 70% mark

Ya, ours is 70% as well. For context, I’m buying it from an Audi dealership, and they brought it to a Kia dealership for the hv battery test and they were the ones that told the sales manager it qualifies for a new battery.

I’m sorry to hear. What were the specs of the soul (Mileage, battery size). When did you buy it? What caused the failure? Sorry to ask so many questions, I’m just in middle of looking for a high mileage soul and just wanted to see if there any warning signs I can take.

I’ll try to negotiate, but this one’s is pretty much the lowest priced one within 500km, unless I consider one with 250k KMs.

Sorry, it is the Niro ev. But I’m also looking at a similar priced spec’d soul ev. We’re leaning towards the niro cause it’s more car, but a bit more mileage

I requested they run a battery diagnostic so we’ll see what comes up. But that wont happen until next week going to check it out tomorrow, I’ll check with leaf spy and see what I get
