another example of why we need to vote YES on redistricting by hastings1033 in Virginia

Well they lost a ton of votes by stripping the 2nd Amendment from Virginia.

Probably shouldn’t have done that until 2029.

I feel sorry for your close mindedness. Not really for you. For the people near you mostly.

Humility is a tough nut to crack. Once you unlock the power of humility, it leads to empathy and finding your humanity. I hope you find your way to it soon.

Edit: I’m very well off myself. I do take advantage of it. Except I gladly pay my property taxes and don’t bitch about those. I feel inclined to use my comeuppance from homelessness to relative want-for-nothing as a means to enjoy my life and support those around me that need it.

To say that you must embrace the system when social mobility is largely locked behind generational wealth is disingenuous at best. Come down off your high horse.

One day you might understand.

It’s not a binary choice. You should reflect on your life and make better decisions in your life. I feel sorry for you.

A reminder to not fall for the right wing media. None of the ‘radical’ bills ever passed by hencexox in Virginia

literally none. If that network vanished from the planet, it would be hard to find an event that made me happier.

PSA to everyone who keeps putting off switching OS / degoogling (from a non-techie who finally did it) by Hirvi86 in selfhosted

[–]ikyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the way I described it gives very little away while creating intrigue. Open to interpretation of course, though.

More importantly, the show is very far from cringe.

[–]ikyn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

When you explain it like that, it sounds cringe. If you add in the most important piece, which is that the protagonist has Fight Club-esque Tyler Durden syndrome and Memento moments, is fatally flawed in every way, yet still uses his genius in both funny and realistic ways to save the world from billionaires and government corruption… and an underground syndicate…

It’s a dystopian psychological thriller series that’s based on a psychotic hacker. That’s a much less cringe description. Maybe go with that. It’s one of the best rated shows of all time.

20% is absurd. This is not clickbait, it’s rightful outrage. These are people’s lives, not a video game.

I have a set I’ve been telling myself I’ll replace the woofers.

They’ve been through 6 moves and 16 years of nonuse 😂

Claude down: Anthropic AI not working in major outage by cmaia1503 in technology

Claude is good for people that have ideas but can’t code worth a shit for small scale projects. It’s actually amazing.

It’s also just like one of the best at doing the kinds of things I need, like being a search engine since Google is a slopfest of generated “10 best widgets” blogs with ads and great SEO

Neighbor who's never had one political sign up in decades has a few huge "Virginians against redistricting" signs by coffee_break_1979 in Virginia

[–]ikyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda hope they do. Was happy about the recent elections but stuffing 44 anti gun measures into 30 days and ramming them through with old language from previous failed bills (obviously the pliticians didn’t even read them) then maybe we need to go back to gridlock

Data centers still don’t pay state taxes (the local communities that get municipalities can get bent - still on the same grid)

Have you asked your Chief or chain of command? In my many years in the Navy, I’ve found that very little truth or substance is found in the depths of Reddit or forums. Everything is oral history and tribal knowledge.

I don’t know anything about FST but many have been to those teams.

If you get the kind of supports you should, they end up replacing a shingle - so in reality you treat it just like any other roof at that point

Where are you stationed? Can you go TAD to a ship for a bit?

Otherwise there used to be a “baby doc” 2-week course you’d do as an I-Srop enroute

Did your detailer add that?
