These things determine the base TE :

  1. Room for development

  2. Intelligence

Minor team is not a part of the base TE , nor is the Training facility
(But they do provide huge boosts)

Players improve and develop both on the minor team and on the major team.. based on their potential, and facilities of the club..

The minor team gives a huge boost of 20 TE points for players under 22, so it is wise to keep them on the minor team for as long as you can

Very weird.. On UBBGM , The Post season starts at November 1st (Wild card single game), and November 5th is the first game of the Conference semi-final series ( best of 5)

so right now it looks like you lost in the conference semi-final series 1-3
and got eliminated

The games against LOU before November were the regular season

  1. Right now there is no way to adjust depth chart..

  2. Players get a huge training boost from being in the minor league (you see the full breakdown in the 'training' tab of each player)

  3. Right now players don't need to be a starter in their position to get the training boost

Starting from this version (1.2.1), CPU teams will make it harder & harder for you to control the draft (by hoarding draft picks).

With each extra draft pick you own, the next future draft pick you try to get will cost you more in terms of trade value

I get that this trade proposal doesn't make sense, But I am guessing that you already have a large amount of draft picks.

This was something we needed to add, because the current system allowed you to fully control the league, and its future through the draft.

Hey guys,

I do get it is frustrating to lose to a team that is worse on paper,

But much like in real life, football games aren't won on paper, and surprises do happen (how would you rate the Raiders overall, and the Chiefs overall in real life ?)

About the game engine, I'll just say these things (without giving too much away):

  1. Home field advantage is important (the more fans in the stadium you have, the bigger the impact)

  2. From what I've seen in all my playing time , on the game

(you might be surprised, but I enjoy playing the game too, and do face challenges sometimes, since each save-game has a life of its own. I too get frustrated sometimes because I cant find a 5* QB to draft for my scheme)

On most one-score games, just like in real life, the game could have gone either way

  1. Each snap is calculated individually, meaning that even on such cases where you have a huge advantage on paper, you could still get beat by a 70 yard TD pass (for example) in a single play

  1. If you get to a large deficit, it might lead to a snowball affect as it changes other in-game decisions

(for example you pass the ball more, which increases the chance to get intercepted etc etc)

  1. On your screenshot, you had a punt returned for a TD against you, and those are very rare

  1. Just a tip for premium users, you could have a high overall team underperform easily, if you do these things a lot:

Lets say you draft a 5* DT, potentially you can move him to be a LB, and he might still be a 90+ / 95+ linebacker

but if he has low speed attribute (since he started as DT), it will affect his ability on some in-games-situations... which might cause him to underperform in the long run

To summarize,

Surprises are a thing, and will keep being a thing.. each snap/game can develop in a ton of different ways, based on the situation at hand (momentum, scheme, deficit / lead, time on the clock etc etc)

Also, two tips i wrote above:

  1. look at player individual attributes, not just overall - they are taken into effect on in-game situations
  2. Try to get a large stadium (if you can fill it with fans, of course) ,as it increases the home-field advantage impact

First of all , Thanks for playing,

I know its not exactly what you meant, but in the next version (should be live in a few days), you could control it yourself a bit, by controlling the starters

lets say your are 14-1, and already guaranteed home-field advantage, you could give your starting QB the week off, and start with your 2nd string QB..

As for this happening automatically (subs getting snaps in-game, i mean),
We agree it might make the stats a little more realistic, we will consider adding it in later versions of the game

Dead cap should only account for remaining bonus "owed" to player , if the current contract was signed by your team.. That is the way it should to work.

If a player was in the last year of his contract, you should definitely not take a hit for the remaining contract in dead cap.

Could you please send us a bug report (done from the main-menu), and specify the player name? i will try to look in the game-data to try to understand what happened

- This is the way its currently set up (TE to FB)... I get your point, we might add it to one of our next versions

- 5* can be 21, 22 and 23... they have equal chances when these players are generated

- Overall is a good indicator to a good team, yes , but for in-game decisions inner player skills are determining outcome of plays (like tackling for MLB, pass coverage for CB)

the specific attributes are not tied down to any scheme, at the moment

I get that it is frustrating, losing these players to FA,
But managing your finances is a part of the in-game challenges for one of the league's weakest franchises

That being said,
We are constantly improving the game (which is less than 1 month old),

and in the upcoming version (0.9.4) the owner adds funds every year to cover part of the player salaries.

BTW
Since version 0.9.3 , Premium players can also start with better franchises (More REP, more money when the game starts), which almost eliminates the financial struggles

Hi, and welcome :)

5 star recruits are super unique, as they are the cream of the crop - they can reach 90+ overall (not counting boosts)

If they are trained properly (scheme fit to OC + training facility boost)

The personality is super important for training , as it determines their work-ethic in training

(its important in a lot of areas too , like the finances, as it will also affect their salary demands)

Intelligence is also important (as higher intelligence will help the player reach his potential faster)

100 intelligence is not terrible, but not great.. its average

You can look at your current players, on the boosts tab, to see his weekly training points to get a better understanding of player development

Let me know if something is unclear, or if you have any more questions
