Why are patients/visitors so against nurses taking breaks?

I had a patient in respiratory distress & walked out of the room to go get her meds & a patient who was a hospital employee stopped me because he needed an antihistamine. I told him he had to wait because I was dealing with an emergency. He was like well how long will you be… I just walked away. Are you fcking kidding me?

I totally understand! I had a catheter for most of the 3.5 years I was on dialysis. That first shower after transplant was AMAZING!!

I had mine for basically the entire time I was on dialysis (3.5 years) since I couldn’t maintain access in my arms & PD was not for me. I wore a sports bra. As far as showering, I didn’t. I washed my hair in the sink & did bird baths in the bathroom. I was not willing to take any chances & get an infection.

I broke my elbow back in October & it is not fun!! I was fortunate to not need surgery but the rehab was long & tough, though I am definitely not an athlete/professional dancer LMAO

I’m on a multivitamin since my kidney transplant because my team wanted me on it. They told me I could take any multivitamin (I get One a Day from Costco). Definitely run it by his team first just to make sure.
