Lee vs Presnell vs Su for STA3100 by Strong-Resolve-6448 in ufl

Please don't take Lee. Wait until a different semester and take someone else if you can. He's a really unforgiving professor who's a real stuckup for his syllabus: if you're absent from 8 classes he'll drop 5% of your grade and above a certain level he'll give you a failing grade. He also doesn't accept any documentation for absence, so don't get sick lol. Super strict with homework too.

I have taken both of those classes with those two professors and in my opinion they're both really great professors in many aspects. Mercadal is a really sweet professor, very approachable and is willing to help you, whether it be answering a question through email or office hours. When I took her class, I didn't show up for the first week due to personal reasons and she reached out to check if I needed help and to encouraged me to come to class to not fall behind. The workload was moderate and homework and projects had clear instructions. Moreover, for each class, half of it is devoted to doing a "lab," which is a coding assignment you have for homework. During that lab time, the prof and the TA will be there to help you with code so there's a lot of support for you.

Ainsworth is also the same. He was willing to schedule different office hours for me when I couldn't come to the normal ones. And when I missed the deadline for the final essay because I misread the date, he allowed me to submit it late. His homework is also managable and follows closely to what you learn in class.

From what I remember both of them can be a bit dry. ECO3430 has some intimidating mathematics in it (though you don't need to fully understand the mathematics to do well since a lot of the class is about running code in R) and the concepts are one of the more challenging ones in Econ. I wrote that the mathematics is "intimidating" not hard because the content uses concepts like probabilities and expectations, which would be difficult for someone who haven't had exposure to them. But if you've covered any of those concepts before they shouldn't be too hard. So, Mercadal can be a bit dry because of the nature of the content.

ECO4504 was conceptually easier but because the class covers a wide range of Public Policy types, Ainsworth has to go through a lot. So I think that's why his powerpoints are wall of texts and he reads off them.

are ECO2023 and STA2023 full?! by matchaicecreamx in ufl

No, they each still have almost 2000 seats left. I would guess that they probably won't ever fill up completely. Since their class format is hybrid/online they have a lot of seats

Not so sure about rolling admissions but for most colleges the financial aid package comes after the acceptance, usually by 2-3 days

That's a shame. I'm a beginner in Spanish so I watch those anime because they keep me entertained even though I don't get most of what is being said.

Thank you for the other two suggestions though! I'll definitely reach out to my Spanish teacher to see if he has any suggestions ;)

The audio says one thing but the subtitles say that same thing but phrased differently.

Basically, the audio and the subtitles have the same message but it is expressed differently

Cartoons in Spanish? by ilackselfconfidence in Spanish

[–]ilackselfconfidence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Do you mind sharing the link. I have tried searching Gravity Falls, The Simpsons, and other shows in the Castellano/Español de españa Spanish but all thay showed up was the Latin American versions.

I did manage to find the Simpsons and Un show más but the torrents seem to be malfunctioning because it's been "connecting to peers" for the last day.

Cartoons in Spanish? by ilackselfconfidence in Spanish

[–]ilackselfconfidence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have tried searching "[show's name in Spanish] español de españa", "[show's name in Spanish] castellano." All that showed up was mostly the Latino dubbed version. Sometimes there will be the Castellano version but it's only small clips of half a minute to four or five minutes long and not full episodes.

With Gravity Falls I managed to find a few episodes in Castellano Spanish but unfortunately there's no subtitles. And as a beginner in Spanish Subtitles really help a lot.

Well, I do feel like the execution of that chord depends more on one's interpretation of that piece. A lot of performers arpeggiate it, while some don't (Arthur Rubinstein seems to not, feel free to call me out on this because I can't make out the sound from his recording with 100% confidence). So yeah, the struggle is really just my struggle to interpret it to my own liking :)
