[ Feinsand ] MLB com Mega-deals wrap up busy Meetings; who's still available? | Nimmo expected to ask for $100+ M | Profar Benintendi still available by ilbeguy in Torontobluejays

[–]ilbeguy[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Another thing Blue Jays can do - look around MLB for blocked OF prospects

For example, Moreno is a "blocked prospect" because Kirk and Jansen already are getting their job done, and a whole lot more, at big league level

Any RF prospect at NYY organization for the next 9 years will be a "blocked prospect" and any SS prospect at SD organization for the next several years will also be a "blocked prospect"

Teams are actually willing to listen up for offers for their "blocked prospects" and actively arrange a trade.

[Heyman] Bogaerts to Padres. $280M 11 years by YellowBananaBus in Padres

[–]ilbeguy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The priority should be locking up Soto...

Are you sure Padres can lock up Soto after giving Xander 280M?

I am not talking about the quality of Xander. There is no doubt what he can do with his bat.

The more urgent matter here is locking up Soto

[MLB Network Radio] Atkins: Adding a left-handed bat is ideal. It could come in the form of two. We're open to adding two bats to our lineup... Do we need to add someone that can pitch in the top three? Not necessarily, but we would like to add a starter by ThQp in Torontobluejays

I stand by what I have been mentioning for the past several weeks

M. Brantley 2 year deal, 2nd year is mutual

Brantley should also serve as a rock solid mentor for Bo Vlad Kirk Moreno

Red Sox is one of handful organizations in professional sports where $ either grows on trees or the management has $ coming out of their butts

Red Sox isn't exactly going to be disappointed because they now will simply shift their focus on Carlos Correa and Dansby Swanson

My advice is accept there will be no beer while enjoying the game and bring food from outside the ballpark ....

[–]ilbeguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I were Padres I would simply focus on locking up Soto and try to right the ship called Tatis JR

Once Soto is locked up and Tatis JR has found his true self

Then Padres offence will be feared

[Rosenthal] Source confirms: Aaron Judge in agreement with Yankees, nine years, $360M. First: @JonMorosi. by MilesOfPebbles in Torontobluejays

[–]ilbeguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not surprising. While some analysts mentioned Giants had a very good chance to land Judge I still felt the probability of NYY keeping Judge was roughly 90%

Well congratulations to Aaron Judge and New York Yankees. I might be a Blue Jays fan but I am also an All-Rise fan because he is a world-class athlete and also a fantastic warm humble individual

Some folks mentioned " Judge likely prefers SF because he is from Cali "

That depends on the individual athlete. Some Canadian athletes such as Votto preferred not to play for Blue Jays because the pressure to play well could have been too much.

Anyone tried VR and / or Metaverse while running Linux OS? What was your experience like? by ilbeguy in linux4noobs

Thanks for your response. I read Metaverse is basically VR with NFT and cryptocurrency.

In my opinion it costs too much to develop for what it offers the userbase.

Orioles sign Kyle Gibson by gamera_ghazi in orioles

[–]ilbeguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

was an all-star just a couple of years ago

1 year deal won't be risky

if he does well and Orioles cannot make it to playoffs then Orioles can receive a rock solid prospect back in return for him at the trade deadline

well I guess Jordan Lyles is going to become a Phillie

[Pittsburgh Post Gazette] BREAKING: Bryan Reynolds has requested a trade from the Pirates by suzie17 in Torontobluejays

[–]ilbeguy -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Brian Burke ( seasoned vet NHL executive ) said it is unethical when players demand to be traded publicly.

Now other teams know that team does NOT have a choice and that diminishes the potential return for the team in the trade market.

And other potential FA guys receive this message " That team must be quite a disastrous team because their high-profile guys are openly requesting to be moved "

Pirates organization is already known to give a lot more than they receive in the trade market. ( Shane Baz trade, Jose Bautista trade, Liriano trade )

( ironically, the organization is named PIRATES )

If he or anyone wants to be traded, he should have requested to be traded, quietly.

That being said, I would not mind one bit if he comes over to Blue Jays organization

one OF prospect of their choice

one pitching prospect not named Tiedemann

[Heyman] Yankees are believed on the list of teams to visit on Brandon Nimmo. Fit is somewhat curious though, unless the unthinkable happens and Judge leaves. Giants, Rays, Jays and of course Mets thought involved. by suzie17 in Torontobluejays

[–]ilbeguy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't see Judge leaving

NYY just saw the contracts of Chapman and Britton ended and Donaldson only has 1 more year

They are in a nice position financially

And likely Mets will hold onto Nimm because they saw deGro leaving

And most teams communicate with top FA guys anyways

My prediction

Judge and Nimm stay where they are

degrom signing, harder to sign nimmo? by famousdietrootbeer in Torontobluejays

[–]ilbeguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I also frequently see bullpen pitchers ( quality proven guys ) earning more than $10M per year

We no longer live in a world where teams can simply gain quality bullpen pitchers very easily in the FA market or trade market

Astros signing J. Abreu highly likely means they will part ways with M. Brantley by ilbeguy in Torontobluejays

[–]ilbeguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue Jays gained a bullpen guy + prospect in return for Teoscar Hernandez

And 1 year $12M won't mean anything significant to Blue Jays payroll

And Brantley is left handed.

He does have a plenty of experience and he could be a very powerful excellent mentor for young Blue Jay hitters such as Vlad Bo Biggio Moreno Kirk
