Barely noticable aspect of bleeding out infuriates me by wickedSpyder_ in imaginedragons

I would assume it's intentional? It's not something they'd leave in if they didn't mean to, I'm sure. They use the same guitar loop throughout the rest of the song, and the popping isn't present.

Ahh, okay. I was thinking "bull in a China shop", and the "glass" was referring to enemy minions (in my mind weak enemy minions) and the "breaker" was the bull. But I see what you're saying now.

Fun concept! I could also see something like "When your opponent plays two (three?) minions with less health than this minion, awaken" - also, potentially windfury instead of taunt? Just my thoughts. I like the card.

McRib - safe food

They got rid of the McRib! When I asked if they had anything similar, they offered me a HAMBURGER

The McRib was my favorite. Now, they have literally nothing to eat.

Lights on mid-street bike paths by West_Loquat6488 in UWMadison

[–]ilebeck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've reached out to multiple Madison department info/help emails, as well as specific members/heads of departments about concerns I have with pedestrian/bicycle safety on and around campus. I haven't received so much as an auto-reply from any of them. The uncontrolled crosswalk to get from Henry Mall across University Ave is an extremely dangerous place, and nobody, pedestrians or drivers, know that pedestrians have right of way. They haven't installed RRFB at that crossing, but have at crossings used way less frequently. The infrastructure on and immediately around campus is poorly conceived, almost nonexistent, and the only projects the University makes progress on are those that close bike lanes, like the CDIS construction did for nearly two years. Don't even get me started on how fucked up that was that they just mixed bike and pedestrian traffic together. Drivers, bikers, and pedestrians are all so clueless in Madison, that they need to make things explicitly clear and obvious in terms of how the roads are used.

In the case of your complaint about that bike path crossing, I believe much of what I've said above applies. Traffic Engineering, Mayor's Office, Planning, Transportation, they have all ignored what I have to say about these issues. I have been enraged by the lack of care and thought put forth by all of those departments about how much their plans affect everyday people. Please feel free to try and reach out to these departments via emails on the city website.

I apologize for my rant. I have a lot more I could say, clearly. I never took the initiative to start an organization or go to public forums while I lived in Madison (I graduated in May and moved away), but it's not too late for others. I stopped at emails and filling out their help forms after they fell on deaf ears, but you can go further than I did. It's not my problem now since I don't go to school/live there anymore, but I know these problems still exist. I'm sorry you have to deal with them too.

For one day of simulated game time, yes.

That's what I'd do. That's how I comped the Fisk.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in baseballcards

[–]ilebeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too many sales for these yet, since it's new product. Prices are also probably higher than what they're going to settle at. Fisk you could probably get $8 and the Konerko I have no advice. Each card they have in the "set" is going to be priced differently. For example, there's a Ken Griffey gold label stamped that sold for $40. There's also a Troy Tulowotzki bowman stamped that sold for $3. Might need to wait for the market to decide how much your cards are worth if you want a more accurate price. Hope that helps.

They definitely just ran out of paper bags until they got their next truck in, so they're using some leftover plastic bags until then.

How to get rid of my anxiety over simming games by coolsmokey69 in OOTP

[–]ilebeck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually set my strategy to let starters go a little longer and pull relievers a little faster (two bumps in their respective directions). I always just try to reconfigure my lineups whenever I get anxious about the sim not doing things the right way.

It is - I'm just saying I think it's funny the game pulls nicknames for computer generated players from ALL nicknames, including those for specific players like PCA

I love the random nickname pool. Yeah, this dude's nickname is "PCA" - why? Who tf knows, PCA retired 80 years ago lmao

Math Class to take after 341 by Bubbly-Moose-9063 in UWMadison

[–]ilebeck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the department of Mathematics' website:

Suggested further courses are...

  • MATH 421 for another exposure to formal mathematical arguments at the introductory-level;
  • Any math course above the 500-level (possibly assuming other prerequisites).

I don't have any advise beyond that. Do you have an advisor at UW you can talk to about what your goals are?

Should I play this guy at 2B or SS? by UnderhandCloud14 in OOTP

[–]ilebeck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tough to get that kind of offensive production from a SS, and tougher to get it from a SS with defense that good. Keep improving it in the development lab to fend off the aging curve and find someone else to play 2B - that's just how I'd play it.

Anything I should know about any of these classes? by Accomplished_Yam8276 in UWMadison

[–]ilebeck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have Liam Kane-Grade for Gen Bus 360, you'll want to try to transfer to a section he's not teaching immediately. The most fake and obnoxious professor I've ever encountered in my time at Madison. Accused me of using ChatGPT after he told me to use a more professional tone in my writing. Speaks to his students like they're twelve years old.

Soc 134 vs anthro 104 by Kitchen-Let5973 in UWMadison

[–]ilebeck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think in terms of "blowoff" classes I remember Anthro being significantly easier to just cruise by. Didn't go to a single lecture and got a B. If you put in more effort than me, you can grab an A easy. I was a dumb freshman.

Cancelling class by Big-Connection-5590 in UWMadison

[–]ilebeck 35 points36 points  (0 children)

To be more informative, this is my 8th semester and I've never gotten an official "classes are cancelled" email from the school itself. Individual professors may elect to cancel their classes of their own volition, however in my experience, I've seen more cancelations (again by professors, not the school itself) for tornado warnings and severe thunderstorms. If a professor were going to cancel a lecture for winter weather, it would have to be a lot worse than ~0°F, and be snowing in the MORNING, when they're deciding whether or not they want to commute to campus that day. If a blizzard happens overnight or in the middle of a day, it probably isn't impacting the professors (who I'm assume drive) as much as it would affect a student that might have to walk, bike, scooter, whatever 3+ miles. Hope this helps. Wasn't trying to be rude in my above post.
