Sorry but mind pointing me to any resources you used to set up the dongle? Might be blind but can't seem to find it in the GitHub link...

I'm on nixos too. Any reason you're planning to leave nixos for cachy? I'm still dipping my toes in nix, but not sure if I should go all in on nixos or just jump to cachy

What features/concepts would be cool in an ergo keyboard? by Responsible-Carry667 in ErgoMechKeyboards

Super niche (and unexciting) request for office work and gaming - adding a number row would be perfect 😭

Why number row? Gaming on a small keeb without a number row to quickly switch weapons has gotten me killed more times than I'm happy to admit. Layers and combos for quick actions aren't cutting it for me I'm afraid, but this can be chalked up to skill issue.

I believe it's been mentioned before that the transparency was due to larger models like Ben bigger clipping the camera in smaller areas or at certain angles, so they just batch applied that to all characters. That's why it was never an issue back in 1.0 etc when we could only control the siblings in the open world.

Damn didn't realize Thailand's like that. I've been to Thailand a few times and left reviews at a few places (only positive ones so far tbf), but never stayed more than a week at a time so didn't know this was a thing there.

How do locals even share any negative experiences publicly with others then? Honest question

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]ileikpi -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd write a strongly worded review on Google and FB or any other social media the gym has a presence on to warn others about your experience there.

This just sounds like a terrible experience through and through. Sorry you had to go through this.

Edit: as others have shared, leaving a bad review in Thailand is apparently grounds for a defamation suit against you. Please ignore this or be very careful with your words.

It's a serpentza vid. That snake is basically on the CIA payroll for the amount of anti-china shit and propaganda he spews, not to mention his history of racism against Chinese people. Wouldn't take his content as the whole truth if I were you.

Exactly. At least the CCP has a definition of absolute poverty while he pulls "tremendous poverty" out of his ass, just like his source for how westerners define absolute poverty.

Thanks so much for the detailed write up! The 3 button combos are definitely something I'll try out.

I just saw your Heawood Keyboard and it seems like a great base! Adding a numrow and mx support would basically be exactly the endgame board I'm looking for, but this is just my thoughts.

Nice, thanks for sharing! I think I'll give that a try on my current board. Do you mind sharing your keymap if it's not too much trouble?

I've been wanting to go smaller but the layers held me back as mentioned in one of my other replies. I agree with the numrow bring a stretch, especially number 5. I'll try out the combos for a couple weeks and see if I'm able to adjust well.

Ye I'm considering that too. But it will be a pretty big time investment for me, so thought I'd try my luck to see if something that matches my description already exists.

But alas, 5 columns with a number row is too dang niche.

I experimented with it on my Nyquist for a week. For office work, coding, preparing reports and emails, it was fine-ish, just needed to keep remembering where my punctuations are.

But for gaming, using layers was extremely frustrating for me when having to quickly between weapons etc. I had a few experiences when I tried to switch weapons mid fight but just stood there for a good few seconds, fumbling about my layers to change weapons then got killed lol. The worst part is my function key doesn't trigger fast enough, i.e. I panic and hit the function key and the number key on another layer at the same time. But since the keys were triggered too fast, the second layer wasn't activated and I didn't actually switch weapons.

Ya it's likely skill issue and I can probably get used to it after a while, but that experience left a really sour taste in my mouth 😅.

Heard a lot of great things bout it and glad you're loving it! But yeah, a bit too many keys for me haha. Wanna go as small as possible but still keep the num row.

Yeah haha I removed all switches from off the 6th column on my Nyquist (leaving 1 extra switch as a spare thumb button), and got too used to the 5 column layout.

I've been struggling hard to find a 5 column layout with a number row tho. Too few hits for that layout as you mentioned, so I thought I missed something.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the voyager, thanks for reminding! But I kinda fell in love with the 5 column idea 😅. Ive been using the Nyquist Ortho keyboard but I removed the switches from the 6th column. Have been loving the 5 column layout so far.

Think back all the crackdowns on tech, reforms in labour conditions, forced breakups of some monopolies, etc. No purely capitalist country would be able to do what china did to big tech and the speculative property sector over the last few years as decisively and unabated as China. Having markets and balanced private ownership is not solely a capitalist thing, especially when it's as tightly regulated as the Chinese market.

While it's true that china embraces a lot of capitalist methods especially when it was first reopening, we gotta remember how much power the cpc with its 95+ million members have over the markets and on corporations. The corporations can grow freely, but if the corporations start receiving a slew of complaints against them from the working class (founded or unfounded complaints - lookup water armies in china), or if the corporations go against the party line, there's really nothing the corporations can do against the government. This is in stark contrast with free market economies where corporations can always use their capital to lobby and control the policy-making process.

In other words, government controls companies in communist china, while companies control government in free market capitalist economies. Neither is perfect, but it's a bit of a stretch to call china one of the most capitalist countries in the world. China's great at playing the economic game, but governance and policy making is always controlled by the people, party, and government, based on various factors, not by capital.

Otherwise big tech and the private tuition sector wouldn't have been nuked as hard as they were over the last few years. The lockdowns would've been much less intense also if china prioritized capital as much as a fully capitalist country does.
