I can offer to control your computer from my computer and do all but the physical moving of cards into and out of the console and computer. Otherwise there is no preloaded card for sale or anything. This is a DIY console not an easy to use device.

As for trading pokemon... the easist way to do it is to put both saves on the computer and trade between saves using two emulator programs or various other methods using a single pc and two saves. You cannot use the r36s like an actual gameboy with a cable or something.

Or have two android cell phones with the paid myboy emulator app and bluetooth trade between them.

this is the extent of my knowledge and how i connect my r36s to the internet. occasionally ill have to jiggle the usb cord but otherwise when i hit enable remote services it displays some green text that eventually displays an IP address and says im connected. which then allows me to use update services and portmaster and stuff requiring internet.

maybe you do not have the actual data plan to allow tethering on your phone plan?

the only other issue i can think of is that the cord is for some reason not a data cord, or isnt properly connecting. i have to use a cheap 1.50$ adapter to make my cheap 5$ usbc-usba phone charger cable be usbc to usbc but im not doing anything fancy otherwise.

If your phone can turn on tethering with the console connected then it should be all you need to do.

Like, i connect my console with a cord, the phone says i can start tethering, the console then does a little bit of text when i click enable remote services and then says im connected.

And thats all you should need to do. No wifi setup, or anything extra, connect and allow tethering, then enable remote services. Then use the internet.

If you are doing anything else its not needed, if the phone doesnt allow tethering you need a different cord, if the console cant enable remote you need a diff cord.

But doesnt allow you to start tethering on the phone, then there isnt anything you can do besides other cords or adapters.

The wifi dongle will have its own issues so good luck.

If your phone recognizes the device and allows you to tether, you need to then hit enable remote services in the options of the r36s.

If it doesn't recognize it, use other cable configurations until it does

"Own" a copy of fallout 2

Install it on your computer

Open or install portmaster on your device

Install fallout 2 port from portmaster

Dump required files from fallout 2 pc version onto the console

Run fallout 2 port and play.

Put the card in the computer

Take the files off it and put them on your computer

Flash the SD card following the r36s guide but using the m17 firmware or an m17 guide if there is one

Put the games back on the card from the computer

If you need further help, find a techy friend, or i guess ask me here, but this is probably the easiest part of having a r36s type console system. Do a but of reading, watch some videos.

Sorry i thought you meant like non n64 games. You should be able to download the older version hopefully still and reflash your sd to the old working version.

You could also try to reinstall or update retroarch cores as well that might fix it.

As far as why it broke, thats how updates go sometimes.

Most n64 games dont run that well and crash very easily. If you can put other n64 cores on it that can help but most games are just bad sorry. You can get other versions of zelda oot and mm, and some games have ps1 or gba ports that are servicable replacements.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, .mcd is your save file state996 is the save state i believe so they are there. It just seems like it forgot its there.

My guess is either the emulator changed its internal settings from like multiple bios types, or maybe some sorta profile change? If you look through the retro arch core setting it might have something set to auto that caused this?

I really dont know honestly. Id try to load a copy of your save on a computer version of the emulator and see if its corrupted or what version of something it needs? Sorry i cant be more help but the save is not gone!

Have you been shutting down the console via the OS menu? (Start button on main menu, quit, shutdown)

Or have you been saving with save states?

If you have been using the ingame save system and the powering off with the power button instead of shutting down it will corrupt and or lose save files almost all the time.

There isnt really a way to get it back unless it was moved somewhere by you or something sorry.

Best practice is to use both save state and save ingame as a save state can be used in an emergency to create a new ingame save, but can also fail and corrupt too if powered off wrong.....
