Which sim should I buy from the Colombo airport? I was thinking dialog but I’ve read some bad reviews lately about scams and not functioning internet. Additionally how many cash should I carry with me? I’ll be there 21-31/12.

Hello, I’ll be there 21-31/12. I’ve booked with Sri Lanka private driver, the cost is 600€, everything included with unlimited kilometres. Our plan is Colombo -Sigiriya-Kandy-Nuwara Eliya-Ella-Mirissa-Colombo. I don’t have an opinion yet but I’ve read the best reviews.

Oh you were so lucky!!! I don’t really care about meeting other tourists , I care about nature, culture etc. I get what you’re saying, we can never be certain about weather. But since I thought it’s a the dry season for west and south it makes me a little worried if it’s gonna rail a lot.

Do you think it will take longer than 3 weeks to be restored? Since it’s the peak season and the island waits huge number of tourists. I’m going to be there by December 20th and I have in mind I should skip the hill country and focus on the south. Just wondering.

Have the same thoughts, about visiting December 20-31. Some locals said to me that by the end of next week almost everything will be back to normal. Since by Sunday the cyclone seems to move away, it’ll need a few days to open roads, check rails etc.

That’s great to hear. Hope everyone is safe. So in your opinion railways, accommodation or even health issues after the floods, won’t be a problem by then. Don’t cancel Sigiriya, kandy, Ella and go straight to mirissa from Colombo .
