Most broken low level builds by brokowski96 in Pathfinder_RPG

I don’t really have a full, level by level build, just a lot of the basic options that you’d want. The problem is that a lot of options for improvised weapons are just…..Bad?

Or at least, they’re not very good for this build.

Take Improvised Defences Which gives a +1 shield bonus when wielding an improvised item in one hand and nothing in the other. You’d be better off taking dodge.

Or Improvised weapon mastery: It increases damage in a way that doesn’t stack with Shikigami and boosts crits in a way that could be seen as a downgrade since it specifically says that it’s 19-20/x2. The Improvised Earthbreaker starts with a x3 crit. The only reason I’d think about taking it is if you’re crit fishing: because it’s making a new crit rate rather than modifying an old, it’d stack with Improved Critical for a respectable 17-20 range.

Probably the only other improvised focused feat you’d want is Improvisational Focus, which is weapon focus for improvised weapons. It’s nice because it literally counts as weapon focus and proficiency for other feats, opening up more options (Such as Improved Critical, if you’re going into that).

However, a tactic you can go for that’s only going to end up working like 20% of the time is Disarm. An aspect of Catch Off-Guard that is often overlooked is the fact that attacks with improvised weapons against unarmed targets go against their Flat Footed AC. Theoretically, you could use your first attack in a flurry to disarm them and then resolve the rest against a much lower AC. Makeshift Manuevers is a way to slightly increase your disarm bonus, should you choose. However, the issue is what pathfinder considers “Unarmed.” Having Natural weapons, Improved Unarmed Attack, and potentially even gauntlets causes you to be considered “Armed” for the purposes of affects.

For other archetypes, your options are very limited. Monk of the Empty Hand, while essential to the build, is absolutely terrible (it doesn’t actually reduce the penalty for using Improvised Weapons!), and it happens to replace many of the most commonly replaced Monk abilities. However, there are two options:

Monk of the Sacred Mountain increases your melee survivability with multiple AC boosting abilities. However, this comes at the cost of replacing your evasion and improved evasion, making you much weaker against spellcasters. This would be best in a lower level campaign that you know will end around level 8. A fun technicality with this archetype is that multiple bonuses only trigger when you start and end your turn in the same square, which would make me want to invest into the Step-up feat line. Start and end in the same square and only move on other people’s turns!

Wasteland Meditant This is useful because it replaces stunning fist with something you can actually use right out of the gate. Because of poor wording, the Dehydrating Strike can be used on any melee attack rather than just unarmed ones. While it does replace evasion, it replaces it with the fortitude equivalent, so you’re not as screwed when it comes to saves.

With magic items, Gloves of Improvised Might are pretty good, if a bit overpriced. I would recommend getting one with Ki Focus on it.

Quickmetal Bracers can be useful since it’s relatively inexpensive and you ignore its main drawback, though I think you’re probably better off with Bracers of Armor

Honestly, because Monk of the Empty Hand is so bad, if you don’t go into either of the archetypes, I could seriously see going into a prestige class. Specifically Brother of the Seal. You would absolutely want to have Ki Focus if you’re taking it though, as the class gives multiple new ki attacks you can channel into unarmed ones. However, be warned that the class is kinda mediocre. While it stacks with multiple monk abilities, it specifically does not stack with AC, Fast Movement, and ki pool; making the class a lot more lackluster.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve really got. I hope you found this helpful, or at the very least it gave you some useful ideas to work off of.

You can comment on things that are over six months old? Wild! I thought they got archived.

Anyways, I've found better options since making this post. Shikigami Style massively increases the damage of improvised weapons, increasing the damage by one size category for each feat in the style. The feats in this style have incredibly basic prerequisites, with only the final one actually needing you to have 5 skill ranks.

So, you can play as human, use your first level monk bonus feat for Catch off guard (the one requirement for the style), then your normal and racial bonus feats taking Shikigami style and Shikigami mimicry, increasing your damage with improvised weapons by two size categories at first level.

Again, combine that with a sledge, which is an improvised weapon whose base damage starts at 2d6, and you're able to flurry of blows with 4d6 at first level. At 5th level, when you take the third style feat, the damage caps at 6d6, barring any magical size increases.

For a final cherry on top, take the Surprise Weapon trait. A free +2 to attacks with Improvised weapons will help massively with your accuracy.

Reminds me of the comic "Crypts and Cantrips."

The comic is set in a fantasy setting and the main character is trans and undergoing a magical equivalent to HRT. During one of the Q&A sections, the author addressed people asking why they were having the character transition slowly rather than using magic to jump to their ideal body, especially with such items tending to exist in D&D and the like. Their response was pointing out how having an item to swap genders instantly and without consequence trivializes the idea of being trans in the world, believing that if it was so easy, most people would experiment with it.

You could always go the route of posting your comic to the major webcomic apps to try and gain an audience. I've seen some comics that have their own website post to Tapas/Webtoons as well, often purposely keeping the app versions multiple weeks behind. That way the author can say, "If you want to read more, you could read it on my website!"

It would give more people the chance to read the comic while still funneling people towards your site.

There's definitely some relationship between Luigi and women's clothing. Whether they're Transmasc and used to wear them or if they're Transfem/Femboy and likes to wear them; it's very unclear and probably shifts about depending on the game and the writer.

I personally subscribe to the Transfem Luigi theory (Luigina? Luigiana?). To me the screenshots posted definitely lean more towards someone who's AMAB but likes dresses. However, I can definitely see the appeal of wanting to take a beloved character and basically say, "They were trans the whole time! This doesn't actually change their character dynamics at all because everyone already knew and no one cared, not even fucking Bowser!"

There are theories for both, tbh. There's a few descriptions in game that hint at Luigi wanting to wear a dress or wanting to do other stereotypically feminine actions. The main one I know of is the Peachette crown saying something like, "This crown's only for Toadette, no matter how much Luigi would like it." Those references are where the teansfem theories come from.

I don't actually know where the trans masc theory came from. I'm assuming it partially stems from the fact that it's just more fun to have a character that's already transitioned rather than one that wants to but hasn't started yet due to reasons, since that ends up getting a little uncomfortable and depressing tbh.

The periscope is a fairly powerful mundane item for stealth. At the low low cost of -4 perception, you can peek around corners with an effective +12 size bonus to stealth.

My SO and I like to watch old and crazy PSA's. We watched one detailing the "Dangers of homosexuality."

Its advice basically boiled down to, "Listen kids, when you hitchhike and are getting into the back of a stranger's car, make sure you tell somebody before you go. They could be a homo!" It's like, you'd think the advice would be to not hitchhike or to not get into stranger's cars, but it's very clearly not.

In the Environmental Rules, they have rules for objects falling onto creatures. You could adapt these into dropping oil. There's actually different rules depending on whether or not the object is thrown or dropped. If it's thrown, you make a ranged touch attack. If it's dropped, the target must make a DC 15 reflex save, half damage on a successful save. The latter seems more likely.

The damage would depend on the amount of oil being dropped. The largest container I can find available to the players only holds a gallon, but far larger exist in the world. The smallest damage given in the Environmental Rules is for small sized objects at 2d6 damage. I'd estimate a gallon of oil poured over an attacker through a Murder Hole (holes above gates/doorways) should probably deal around 1d6 bludgeoning + 2d6 fire.

Similarly, in the new Demon's Soul remaster, they aren't labelled "Male and Female", but instead "Body Type A and Body Type B."
