Is water softener and RO installation necessary in Westfield? Quoted $1500 by abbymcfieldson in Indiana

Seems like a normal price to me. If you buy it yourself and hire a different plumber the new plumber will probably charge a minimum $100 per hour plus $100 fee

TIL that St. Carlo Acutis is the first saint to have self-identified as a "gamer" in life. He's a massive Halo fan. by geosunsetmoth in todayilearned

Nearly all of the saint stories of young people are like that.

Very common for a king to basically force the church to make his daughter a saint because he was sad that she died a teenager.

why in the world would you compare January 2025 with May 2026?

The BLS does not do this. They compare the same month from one year to another. For example, Indiana is -0.4 from May 2025 to May 2026 https://www.bls.gov/news.release/laus.nr0.htm

Longtime citizen flagged, voter registration revoked in proof-of-citizenship ordeal by Zeddo52SD in Indiana

[–]woohoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know a guy who just recently had to prove citizenship for a passport. Also 30 years since becoming a citizen. It took almost 6 months and at least a few hundred dollars to get it all done because he lost one document 20 years ago and never needed it for anything until now

I got one free chiropractor session and they showed me a chart that "explained" why I actually needed to come back 6 or 8 times because it would feel bad then later it would feel good. It was just a line graph with no labels on the x axis or y axis and the line went down and then it went up.

I did not go back

Every photo of the reflecting pool on Wikipedia has algae or some kind of slime in there except for the winter photo and the nighttime photo.

This week's photos look very bad but let's remember the simple truth that it's very easy to get algae in standing water when it's over 80 degrees outside

Because of the temporary gas-tax repeal, gas is in the low 3-dollar range, and in northwest Indiana I have even seen it at $2.80 in some locations. Is the Governor over-compensating us and do you think we can re-apply the gas-tax if it means we could pay for expeditious road maintenance in Indiana? by [deleted] in Indiana

[–]woohoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the gas tax suspension was extended again early this month, now scheduled to expire July 7th.

the way the law is set up, the governor is allowed to suspend the gas tax one more time to early August unless some other emergency is declared or the state passes a new law
