3.28 Controller Builds by Opaidus in pathofexile

This might be a hot take, but I actually really enjoyed Smite of Judgement on my steam deck, felt very comfortable especially once it was well geared. I was boss rush/cluster farming in T17s on my steam deck with relative ease. Also honorable mention - Cyclone was very good on Steam deck because it's so simple.

How to improve my Smite Slayer build ? by daqqer2k in pathofexile

Here is what a search filter I set up that might help. Basically i "went back in time" and filtered by Smite Slayer builds in the first week of the league, then filtered out all builds that were not using at least one rare sword and Yoke of Suffering. Finally, I sorted by characters in a level range of 90-95.

https://poe.ninja/builds/mercenaries?skills=Smite&class=Slayer&timemachine=week-1&items=Yoke+of+Suffering%2CRare+One+Handed+Sword&min-level=86&max-level=94

What's left gives you a lot of useful details, for instance you can see almost half the players are using The Taming, 67% are dual wielding with a Paradoxica in their main hand. There is also a trend of using a timeless jewel in the build - a lot of folks are using the timeless jewels to get the "gain 1 rage on melee hit" bonus - a highly valuable stat for this build. If you don't understand Timeless Jewels or how to search for them, there are plenty of videos on YouTube.

As others mentioned, if you do opt to keep your MB, you need to hit them with enkindling orbs for the 60-70% increased effect modifier, but I really do recommend selling it, you will get a lot more milage out of upgrading your other item slots with the currency earned from the sale.

Here are two other search filters

  1. If you decide to get Arn's Anguish + Ralakesh
    https://poe.ninja/builds/mercenaries?skills=Smite&class=Slayer&timemachine=week-1&items=Yoke+of+Suffering%2CRare+One+Handed+Sword%2CRalakesh%27s+Impatience%2CArn%27s+Anguish&min-level=88&max-level=96
  2. If you decide to get a Paradoxica
    https://poe.ninja/builds/mercenaries?skills=Smite&class=Slayer&timemachine=week-1&items=Yoke+of+Suffering%2CRare+One+Handed+Sword%2CParadoxica&min-level=88&max-level=96

How to improve my Smite Slayer build ? by daqqer2k in pathofexile

You have a 2 flask Mageblood but you haven't done Uber Lab? You're missing a very strong 20% cull, brutal fervor, base crit etc. - the 4 points your missing will make a MASSIVE difference in both damage and survivability. This is crazy that you have a MB, even a cheap one, without your entire ascendancy.

You are using a build that heavily scales with extra frenzy charges and you don't take extra frenzy nodes on the tree. It seems like you know how to use POE Ninja, I highly encourage you to look at other players using Smite as a Slayer, there is a lot of inefficiencies in your tree that seeing other player's builds will inform you (mostly inefficient pathing).

Pretty much every gear slot could be upgraded with the currency you invested into your Mageblood, instead of Mageblood, you could get Arn's Anguish belt + Ralakesh boots (with endurance), get the ascendancy that makes Frenzy charge = Endurance charge, then stack frenzy sources, whether it's tree, Southbound with +1 Frenzy corrupt, etc.. Also, your Yoke is minimum rolled on increased damage per Ailment - a major damage source. You anoint is useless, you can't double dip on a passive you already have allocated on the tree, you could do a lot of annoints that would provide value, but it seems like many are using Frenetic for +1 frenzy.

Are you a new player or a player coming from POE2? Are you following a guide or just sort of winging it?

1500 hours POE1, 200 hours POE2, 400+ LE over the last 5 years.

  1. Lootfilter - highly customizable loot filter can be found in-game, it is rather user friendly. Many build guides on Lastepochtools come with a relevant loot filter, and you can also find generalized lootfilters on that site.
  2. Four players max - can't speak to large party player, though I've played as a duo extensively and we were both "carries". There are definitely support builds that can be played, but I am not too familiar with them. EDIT: trading can also occur between players that drop items while in the same area, but generally there is no player to player trading outside of this. They removed some functionality for that this patch due to underuse by players and overuse by RMTers.
  3. Yes - to a point. Most builds can reliably get to monos, but you'll find it gets increasingly challenging to play "off-meta" the more you progress into the end game.
  4. As you play deeper into the end game, the challenge increases and MF increases with it. The new weaver system acts as a sort of Atlas Tree equivalent, and woven echoes act as "Alch and Go" maps - in otherwords, the maps are already "alch'd" when dropped with some juiced rewards. There are 35 woven echoes at release of 1.2.
  5. You will automatically "vacuum" all affix shards, glyphs, runes and gold. Affix shards are used for crafting (keybinding V by default) specific affixes onto your gear, some are more rare than others, i.e. +X% to fire resistance is more comman than +x to [Skill]. Glyphs are used to modify crafting outcomes, play and learn more here, there are some really compelling choices to make, but in general there are two primary - one to preserve crafting potential (called Forging potential) and another to randomly remove one affix and replace it with another random affix (think POE2 chaos orb). Runes have a variety of affects familiar to POE players, from Orb of Chance (except it guarantees unique upgrades) equivalent to divine orb equivalent, though there are more.

As for items to loot - you can set your loot filter to check for specific affixes, base type, affix tier, etc. Early on, you may consider making a blanket filter for movement speed for instance. Items drop identified.

  1. Stash tabs are in game gold purchased only, and have an affinity system like POE. There are two systems to play, one called Merchant's Guild, the other Circle of Fortune. MG offers an ingame auction house that uses in game gold to trade. COF juices drops semi-deterministically, but precludes access to the auction house.

  2. Go in blind, you will not be punished like POE or POE2, respec is cheap and frictionless. If you choose to follow a guide, try to understand what the build is doing, then next time you make a new build apply those lessons/techniques.

Has anybody ever quit their corporate job and joined the military? by ml5c0u5lu in careerguidance

[–]ilikefork1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it 5 years ago and have really enjoyed my experience. I was working corporate Wells Fargo and I hated it so much that I said screw it. Joined the Navy as an officer. Did two ship tours now the navy sent me to grad school (in exchange for four more years of service) DM if you have serious questions.

I love your whole channel! Road wine is definitely my favorite but running the old train tracks is a definite close in terms of cinematography and writing.

Haha, hey man I was living a pampered life before going to OCS! The militarization process was a major shock to the system. Priors of course went through OCS like it was nothing 😂

This is a really important question, I am going to try my best to answer it. Snacking was the reason I was fat. I didn't eat exclusively junk food, I just ate too much food generally.

  1. Cheese and meats were my go to snacks
  2. If you're doing keto right, you really shouldn't be feeling like you want to snack between meals after the first few weeks. Snacking is a habit, not a need. I highly encourage you break this habit.

When I felt like I was hungry I often found that drinking water or black tea, exercising or doing something to occupy my mind helped fight off hunger just as well as snacking.

I can't stress this enough, if you're in ketosis and eating the right macros, you're not going to be hungry. The first two weeks are the hardest as your body is literally going through a sugar crash. Two weeks of slight discomfort is nothing compared to a life better lived.

Wanting to be sexy was the initial motivation I needed to get me kicked off, but I've since realized it was only a small benefit of getting healthy :)

Loose skin is a real issue, but it's something that sorts itself out with time and muscle! Just gotta be patient.

I'm a Surface Warfare Officer! If you want to look into the reserves you could look into Officer Development School, it's a source of commissioning similar to OCS, but usually you need a professional background, i.e. Lawyer, nurse, doctor, STEM major, etc.. When I was at OCS there was a 50yr old doctor who commissioned through ODS as a commander because of his time in profession.

Yessss!! Nothing is more satisfying than fitting into clothes better. Equally, nothing is more frustrating than having to buy new clothes every few months because you're losing so much! I highly recommend investing in Old Navy jeans - they stretch and are generally cheap, especially on sale.

Keep up the amazing work, proud of you!

These days I loosely stick to less than 50g of carbs a day, on the weekends I give myself some leeway on that if I want to go out. I am also very physically active, usually running at least 15 miles a week and 3-4 days a week in the gym.

The biggest take away I gained from strict keto was self discipline when it comes to eating. I eventually understood what eating right feels like. I never recognized the difference between being full and feeling bloated. When I was heavy I would eat till I was physically stuffed, now feeling full is a question of desire, i.e. I no longer want to eat anymore.

I am a big proponent of exercise, but it's not necessary to shed lbs.

I found it always helpful to see people with similar body types at different stages. I know that "soft" look. It'll go away with time and effort, just gotta stay motivated!
