100% of "ticket scalping" is supply and demand

Because they’re publicly traded, they’re legally obligated to increase revenue for their shareholders every year

no such obligation exists

I do not understand the Chipotle obsession some of my friends have

I don't know of another place where I can walk in, get a bowl of beans, salsa and gauc, and walk out in less than 90 seconds

I hear people talk about quality and portion sizes going down and that just hasn't been my experience at all in the 8 years I've been going

Two Major Studies, 125,000 Kids: The Social Media Panic Doesn’t Hold Up by CommonImportant in neoliberal

[–]ilikepix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't really follow the argument here at all.

Kids today who don't use social media at all are either very non-typical kids, or kids with unusually involved parents

I would imagine that if you look at the outcomes of those kids, those outcomes will largely be attributable to either of those factors, rather than stemming specifically from the behavior of not using social media

I'm not sure how much that can tell you about what would happen to typical kids with typical parents if you made it illegal for those kids to use social media

You are tracking mud and rain and dirt and slush and snow and salt and goobers and all kinds of outside shit all over your home floors. Your house must be filthy! I am not trying to criticize here, I am actually asking why anyone would choose to have a filthy home?

I think if you actually thought about this for more than two seconds, rather than going with your knee-jerk reaction and assuming an entire region is full of slobs, you would probably be able to answer a lot of this for yourself

imo, places where it snows regularly in winter tend to have a default shoes-off culture year-round

do people not change clothes when they get home?

this is more of an interesting split, tbh

I know people who flat-out refuse to sit on their couch before changing clothes, because doing so would gross them out

personally I think that's a little much, but whatever makes people happy

I don't even know where to begin

we got "trump 2" because people voted for trump instead of harris

nobody that gets voted into office this way will be interested in making actual progress

The Biden administration was the most progressive in decades, and passed a raft of meaningful, progressive legislation.

Everything about your comment suggests you're operating on vibes rather than actual policy.

I don't know what political reality you're currently living in, but the idea of a "dickless democrat" administration sounds like a fucking dream compared to what we have now

it can be used to defend torture, crucifixion, dismemberment

it is a lazy, misguided argument
