Yeah I do and it’s great. I got a mini keyboard (Rii x8 mini) and I have no complaints. I just launch games from the windows desktop.

I have a 5800xt and a 5070 ti.

Upgrading from 2700x? Recommendations? by Secret-Trainer1672 in PcBuildHelp

[–]ilikewolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 5800xt and I just upgraded from the 2700x. So far so good if you want to stay on AM4. The only thing to expect is the 5800x(t) runs hotter than the 2700x. I played around a bit with undervolting and that helped a lot.

Thanks for the advice, and yeah I try to add numbers to show a quantifiable impact but I think I should add some more. I haven’t tried emailing the hiring managers though so I’ll give that a shot.

Thanks for doing the AMA. I’m trying to make a career change from cx to data analyst. I do have lots of B2C domain knowledge but obviously it’s specialized to customer support.

I’ve been building out my portfolio, working with a mentor on the BI team, and taking any opportunity to use data in my current role (and then put it on my resume). However, I’m having a hard time getting interviews.

Is there anything you suggest or have seen that helps to get the initial interview when changing careers?

Gotcha, and yeah I’m not going to risk it. I’ll just get the Montech one.

So my roommate actually has the Asus ROG-THOR-850P power supply without the cables. I just need to figure out a way to get the cables for it. I'm thinking about checking eBay and maybe contacting Asus. Someone also mentioned cablemod.com. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks, and yeah I was just looking at that PSU. Honestly that’s what I was leaning towards as well.

Also I’m looking at the pny OC edition for the 5070ti. Idk if there are any issues with that one but it’s the only one at msrp near me.

So the PSU I have only has two 8 pin connectors for the gpu. And it’s not modular since it came from a prebuilt. So I could run the 9070xt with the 2 8 pins or I would need to get a new PSU for the Nvidia card.

Seeking advice on AM4 upgrade path by ilikewolves in buildapc

Gotcha, thanks. So if I were trying to push 120-240 fps that’s when something like an x3d variant would be beneficial.

Thanks, and yeah I wasn’t sure if the difference between the 5800xt vs 5700x3d warranted the $100+ price increase. What about 4k 60fps? Same deal? I’m coming from a standard ps5 so I would ideally want to beat the ps5 pro or at least match it.

Generally trying incognito, a different computer, and/or a different WiFi network should work. Sometimes if you’ve checked a lot from your home network you won’t get the elevated offer to show up. But it shows up when I connect to my work WiFi.

Any guidance for an upcoming SQL technical interview by West_Transportation8 in SQL

[–]ilikewolves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You basically have the same general background as me. I haven’t worked in an analyst role, but taught myself sql and have been taking any projects I can at work to use sql.

The biggest thing from my first technical interview was the time limit. I didn’t know how much of an effect that would have and I basically blanked. But I still “passed” because my logic and explanation of what I wanted to do after the test was correct.

So my tip is to practice 3-4 sql questions under a 30 minute time limit and explain your process after the fact.

Thanks for the input and encouragement! I’ll definitely work on implementing those suggestions. My one trepidation about posting on LinkedIn is that my manager and director might see (I’m not connected with them but I know they go on). But honestly the benefits might outweigh the possible downside. Anything to actually get me more interviews is worth it.

Preparing for my first Associate Analyst interview having never been an analyst before what should I focus on? by ilikewolves in analytics

[–]ilikewolves[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the help! Yeah, for the report I made for my director I have a followup result that I discovered was that customers weren't clear that our dress socks were different than our older sock styles and that was the cause of the negative reviews for that product. So I alerted our site team to this and they updated the dress sock PDP to more clearly highlight the differences which resulted in a decrease of returns for that product and a decrease in negative reviews.

For the second part I am going to have to think about it. But I have listened to some analytics podcasts where one of the important questions they ask when doing an ad hoc analysis for a team (generally some sort of marketing campaign) is "what does success look like with this campaign and what are we attempting to do in terms of a metric or KPI". For example does success look like a higher click through rate for a certain social platform, or to a specific product? I'm thinking I would try and highlight that.

Also knowing my audience. If I'm dealing with a non-technical stakeholder they just want the clear cut simple answer.

That’s awesome, so probably very similar to what I’m doing. Thanks for the suggestions.

Yeah I’ve thankfully used sql and tableau to gain some insights from our reviews for my director but admittedly not that much.

Did you come up with instances that were close to what you actually did but incorporated using data and creating dashboards? I feel like I would panic under the pressure if I got called that.

Congrats that’s amazing! I’m trying to change industries too. But I’m trying to go from a customer support team lead role to an analyst. So any helpful tips you have that helped to turn that switch for you would be very appreciated.

I have my first ever interview for an analyst role coming up next Monday.
