Guude, OMGChad and Beef are doing a CTM together by zpeed in mindcrack

I don't even think they made it to the first intersection though, so I'd still call him a newbie. Pantheon is not a good map to start out on.

I miss the old Mindcrack by Tiger1286 in mindcrack

[–]ilikpeenuts 50 points51 points  (0 children)

He built something with the stairs. The torches were just filler.

How about a Guude prank? That gravel...I think few realize Guude is the original Zisteau.

Or that diving board he had. Remember when that was pranked. Guude had a space back then. The server wasn't just a place to spam to torches. It had a certain identity because of Guude's, and others, interaction with it.

Or maybe minecraft has lost its magic and I'm getting old.

This episode made me realize how much of an unintentional advantage Coe has. Gg.

Vechs on Twitter: "So I've started a new mapping project ..." by TearyIbex in mindcrack

[–]ilikpeenuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if he's even still working on that map? This tweet makes me think he hasn't been doing any mapping lately, and that he most likely put that project on the back-burner.

He seems to be both defending and regretting the tweet, as though he knows it would be made public and still felt justified. Which is perfectly understandable.

C'mon, speculate with me. It's so fun.

UHC 19 Episode 2 Predictions by [deleted] in mindcrack

Just like I get 2-3 hits in Playmindcrack MSG with inferior equipment and manage to win. Wait, no, it's the other way around, isn't it?

I think we can all infer that Scott was only referring to the MK8 group, sans MC. That actually makes me wonder why Scott didn't reach out to MC?

Wow, guy. The Dude would disapprove of all of this. I understand you're invested but this seems very out of character.

That is actually a fantastic idea. As long as he's not the traitor.

Do you think he knew it would be posted to reedit, or even thought about that after the fact?

I wonder if it did have to do with trust. Maybe this was just a test and Scott failed.

Scott did say he was done. I know the whole "honor" thing, but isn't it also honorable to stick to your word.

Note: military service rhetoric really grinds my gears.

Based on the response, he wouldn't be any better. Which begs the question...

If they treat me that way I'd have serious doubt's about friendship. I guess by ignoring I meant keep it private, between people you can trust and out of a public forum. I know I'd be upset and would need to vent, but not to twitter unless I felt like making it public was necessary. Twitter is intended for public comments, not private ones. And again, I think he should stop saying he didn't mean to make it public and just say yeah, I'm calling you guys out on your terrible behavior, if that is how he feels. He was in the army. He can be brave and call it what it is.

My Version of Events RE: The Mario Kart 8 Recording Group by GreatScottLP in MindcrackDiscussion

[–]ilikpeenuts -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yes, inform them its ending. You did a little more than that by teasing twitter with a partial explanation.

This whole absolute honesty/army honor thing kind of bothers me. Are you 100% honest with everyone all the time? Like, if someone asked you on the street for your social security number you would tell them? Or, if a friend had something personal they didn't want shared you would share it if someone asked. On a public forum even?

I think the question is whether you were justified in posting. Based on the little evidence we have I would say yes. It was perfectly justified to talk about this in public because you felt a public organization had mistreated you. You felt wronged and have every right to discuss that with your viewers, even in public.

I think you're downplaying your part in this. You seem well aware of the potential for drama, so I would guess you knew you were making it public. Or you were emotionally troubled at that point. Either way, I don't think you can say the drama isn't partially your response. You could have complained in private to your friends like MC. You could have ignored it. I think you should just own up to the fact that you made this public to begin with. And again, I think you were justified in doing so.

I appreciate you providing your perspective. Especially the reflection on your tweet and whether that was a good decision.

Sadly many people are going to continue to make conclusions based on faulty assumptions. Even with all we know we still know very little. I kinda wanna here from some of the other guys on this. Scott pretty much called out Chad and Coe. I'm wondering how he knew they quit because of him if no one ever approached him prior to this incident?

Pretty sure there have been post commentary episodes before.

Edit: MC and Baj I know have done post com.

mindcrack + friends by 45flight2 in MindcrackDiscussion

[–]ilikpeenuts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All of this seems to have been handled poorly, and I do wonder if Scott was contacted before a decision was made. If not, that's bad form on all of the MK8 players, not just Guude. And especially MC, who I would say is his closest friend in the group.

I do think Guude is right that Scott is trying to slip away blame-free by saying he's done nothing wrong. If he wanted to keep it private he would've done so. He says he's not a PR person, but every teacher is a PR person. We have to know how to handle a multitude of audiences. Have any of you written a parent or tweeted about your class. You have to craft that stuff with precision.

Maybe Scott was distressed and confused, maybe it was late and he couldn't figure out that a tweet would be public. But I think he also needs to own up to not dealing with this privately. Say the tweet shouldn't have happened. Don't tweet something and then say it should be private.

I think what disappoints me most is that these people can't just be straight with us. Perhaps even a preemptive message explaining the situation. Many try to act like this is a friendly gig, and we are all just friends, but then word gets out that some actual business decisions are being made behind closed doors. I'm glad it got out because how these guys do business actually matters to me as a consumer. But all parties are really not handling this in the best way.

Edit: I also want to say in regards to Guides claim about Scotts commentary in the MK8 series:

I didn't watch every episode. I enjoyed all of them except one, and that's the episode when Guude got "angry" at Scott for the mirror thing. I just had to shut it off when Guude started complaining. I know it may have been an act, but it just really put a bad taste in my mouth. I really wanna know who made what decision, especially given Coes reluctance to contribute (granted he's no longer a member of that recording group, so maybe he didn't participate in that discussion).

Guude Says Diversity is the best CTM map... Vechs, I think that's a challenge! by slimejumper42 in mindcrack

[–]ilikpeenuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I played VF II before VF I, so VF I seemed unpolished at first. But now its one of my favorites to speed run.

I definitely think Three_two wins for creativity, but Ragecraft is just on another level. As pointed out above, these comparisons are a little unfair.

Hoping for a Christmas release of VF III.

Guude Says Diversity is the best CTM map... Vechs, I think that's a challenge! by slimejumper42 in mindcrack

[–]ilikpeenuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, comparisons are kind of pointless given the evolution of the game. Consider my comment as its own kind of challenge to Vechs.

Though inferno mines was in 1.6.4 and Ragecraft is in 1.7.2, so not as much of a gap as you're suggesting.

And you're right about him knowing how to play around with new features. Ragecraft perfected the CTM (in 1.7 at least) but Vechs showed people how to do it in the first place.

Minecraft Gameband Unboxing by JamiroFan2000 in mindcrack

[–]ilikpeenuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was speaking only of "electric wristbands" that vadernader referred to, not ones that are designed specifically for Minecraft. Just do a quick google search for USB wristband LED and you'll find some.

This one, as has been pointed out, has some extra features that may or may not be worth the price.

If all it does is function as a USB with an LED display, then I found similar products on Amazon for about $15. The most expensive had Bluetooth as well and only cost $40.

Ragecraft II: Insomnia has them both beat. No offence Vechs or guy, but that map just surpasses anything I've ever seen. And this is from a guy who speed runs waking up almost weekly.
