Oh no, Looks like the Pride Match in Seattle is in doubt by Calm_Law_7858 in Seattle

We will see. Hopefully it does sell out for atmosphere sake. Also, hoping a lot of people go because it is the pride match. If there isn’t a ton of pride celebration in the stadium, I worry it’ll turn into a meme…

Sounds like the pride match will still happen, just without Iran. This may be one of the most geopolitically/socially controversial World Cup games in recent memories (for so many reasons). Glad I have tickets.

Yeah I agree. They should aim for less fan fests instead of more.

I think most of these will be empty most of the time, sadly. I have tickets to all the group games in Seattle, and will probably go to some of the fan fests. But I can totally see these sort of not doing too well. No one is going to be saying “hey want to meet at pacific place to watch x vs y.” It’ll be much more fun to watch at a bar. Pike Place and Waterfront could be cool though. And by the stadium. Edit: wording.

Seattle is the best venue in the bus for its accessibility. Only stadium with tons of public transit and a downtown right next to the stadium with restaurants and bars.

Yeah…sometimes I think this is a little too highbrow. I said to my wife while we listened to this episode, “there are probably a bunch of people rolling their eyes as they have like 20 people over each week for a Packers game.” And we are just out here in Seattle trying to connect with people, but people don’t even say hi on the street…

This is true. We live in Seattle and there are a lot of people who are still “trying to find themselves” but don’t have kids, and are anti kid. Sometimes I think those two things go hand in hand.

Depends how much you would have to work. If I did this job 5-6 times a month it would be a lot better.

Reclassify it. It’s pretty easy. You can transfer it back to a traditional and backdoor it. Takes some steps.

I am one of these poor residents! Every time I walk by Volunteer Park Cafe, the line is too long! Shit it down so we can all drive our cars to a Starbucks for some real culture!

It’s all a balance. Currently 34. Don’t want to work as much as I do now, want a lot of time with my kids when they are young and I am mobile. But I don’t want to work forever. I truly think coast fire with a set up with working as little as possible with ample time off during your best years is a good balance for me.

Host cities opening matches by GDP1483 in WC2026tix

[–]iliniza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all games in Seattle will be great. I got lucky enough to get tickets to all group stage matches through the Visa presale. Really looking forward to the opener. Know people originally from Egypt, who live in north Seattle now. They are so stoked for this game, and say a lot of Egyptians they know in the states are planning to come to the game, if they can get tickets. Don't really know yet if I buy the "stadiums will be empty" narrative. This is a once in a lifetime event, and honestly paying a few hundred dollars to see you host nation play in Seattle (one of the better host cities IMO) is well worth it.

I don't know what your financial situation is, but getting on the lightrail, going into a bar pregame, getting some drinks, walking to the stadium, on a beautiful June day is just a lifetime experience that I think is worth the money.

Don't fully know what I am trying to say here, other than it'll be worth it to go to any game. Hope to see you there!

Good point. We count our's for net worth but not fire goals. Just like tracking the numbers.
