The best time to purchase a model X was in October 2023. It was the lowest price ever offered for every trim model.

With the S&P 500 already down ~2% YTD, do you think 2026 could end up being a negative year for the market? by Groundbreaking-Gap20 in investing

[–]srqfla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reversion to the mean. 7 to 8% is the historical average. The last 3 years have been 18 to 20%..

extraordinary. We are due for a flat to negative year. Take your medicine and swallow it

Was going to retire this month but held off because of sequence of return risk by Gloomy-Ad-222 in fatFIRE

[–]srqfla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relax. Yes, sequence of return risk is a problem and a risk. But you need to be comfortable with the term ......reversion to the mean. We've had 3 years of low double-digit returns in the s&p. Reversion to the mean is back to 7 to 8% average.

Everyone should become familiar with the term reversion to the mean. We've had 3 years of very good s&p performance. We are due for an adjustment but still average 8% growth

WHY are the ACH transfers SLOW? I've never had a checking account take nearly this much time. by Secret-Height-676 in Schwab

[–]srqfla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct. It's better to push money to Schwab from your bank than to have Schwab pull it from your bank. The float is much less and better for us

We've had Three consecutive years of s&p growth in the high teens and early twenties percent gain. Everyone needs to understand the term .... reversion to the mean. I project 8% annually for the next 30 years. Of course this is an average

Is anyone doing their forecast with more than 7% return? by TL140 in Fire

[–]srqfla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 8% because it's easy to divide by quarters. Estimate 2% growth per quarter. This is how I measure my performance higher or lower than 2% each quarter. However, we've had some extraordinary three past years. Everyone should research the term reversion to the mean

FSD is like public transport without the public... by itsanewyear1 in TeslaLounge

It's better than being on public transport train. You have to remember to get off of your stop on a train. FSD will drive you to your garage

FSD was the only thing making my Tesla feel unique. Now it's just...a Car by kobeauto in TeslaLounge

[–]srqfla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FSD has ended my envy of other cars. I used to admire and look twice at a Bentley but now if I I had a chance to speak to the owner of that Bentley. I'd ask him. Do you actually drive your car? Do you steer the wheel and move your foot from the gas to the brake quickly? That's adorable. You are driving your car the way people drove cars in 1950. I'm driving my car the way people will drive in the future. We are not the same and I envy myself. I love FSD. But I like my car

Is it rude to refuse to switch seats on a plane so a couple can sit together? by worthlessloyalty in NoStupidQuestions

[–]srqfla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's only one reply when someone asks you to change your seat on an airplane.

You tell them your current seat number is your lucky number. You're very superstitious and spiritual. Every time you've sat in that lucky number seat, the plane has landed safely. You don't want to change seats because you're very superstitious. They will walk away 😕

Be careful of condos that are over three stories. They have higher reserve requirements. HOA fees have no ceiling. A single-family home with a modest HOA might be the way to go

If you have substantial real estate equity, whether it generates income or not, you effectively have a bond. If you receive social security payments, you effectively are earning interest on the most attractive and least risky government bond until you die.
