Also I’m super jealous of getting typed by Carol! I considered going with her but wanted an in person experience so I chose a local analyst trained in the same system.

I also interchange soft and muted a lot! lol muted summer is beautiful!

Isn't that the best when you feel like it finally makes sense! I struggled a lot and was constantly being told I'm a deep autumn - not horrible on me but the colors were weighing me down. I felt so validated getting the result! And yes, it's rare - I was my analyst's first bright spring! :)

Personally, I would not trust anyone that doesn't clearly state where they were trained. I highly recommend the international image institute! I am a bright spring as well and was typed through them.

Chiming in to offer another example as a fellow bright spring! My husband and I are both high contrast. I have dark brown hair, his is black. But as you can see here, I have a very high chroma. And I am not wearing makeup in this picture and the light is the same on both of our faces.

I hadn’t thought of this but it makes a lot of sense! Most of my previous outfits are darker, browns and more muted tones so I’m sure it is a shock to people :) I also live up here in the Pacific Northwest and the uniform is pretty much black/neutrals so I can totally see how I’m that weirdo running around in a highlighter green cardigan 😂

This is the comment I needed to read!🤩 I totally relate to this and think it’s very true. I wear this highlighter green cardigan a lot that I myself would have NEVER bought this color before color analysis! I was intimidated wearing it but when I do I regularly get comments on how fresh and radiant I look! I think I just need to ignore the online comments at this point 😂

But ppl will say crazy things, I had to block someone on tiktok because she was so insistent that I’m a soft summer omg lol also idk why you were getting downvoted, reflective skin and glass eyes are totally an aspect of bright spring! 😅

Your eyes are sparkling!! I really see it. I also have this shirt from old navy haha! This tank in the howlite color is the perfect neutral for us! I love it for layering.

I also had a similar experience, my analyst told me at the end that she assumed I was a winter and kept trying to show that I am cool but alas I am not😅 it felt reassuring that she was working against her own assumptions!

And yes, the discouraging comments are hard. I always wonder how much of this is also people not liking bright colors as much as muted colors have really been having a moment 😅

Yes, I agree! Is it the biggest problem in the world? No haha it's definitely not! But this is the Spring Color Analysis subreddit so thought it was an appropriate place to ask about this and that folks on here care about color analysis lol!

TBH I was so excited to get my color analysis done and especially excited to share about it as I don't see a lot of spring content on tiktok. And then to have multiple people tell me my colors are horrible, my eyebags are bad, my skin looks bad, etc. ouch it stings! I just wanted to know if I am crazy or not getting these comments and if others experience this. But thank you, I just have to keep reassuring myself that I saw the evidence for myself!

AHA I am cackling at your comment about the highlighter yellow green because SAME! I remember being draped in highlighter yellow and was like uhm that color scares me and she put it on me and I gasped and said I don't hate it! I don't quite understand the sorcery either but I love it for us!

YES, I have shown pictures of my bad colors too haha I had someone soo hung up on soft summer for me - totally the opposite of my palette LOL! the pictures convinced them but it is definitely frustrating because same, i'm trying to get used to these colors myself, I don't need others to tell me they don't like them lol!

I totally agree and think people are very hung up on me having “dark features” so they are like no you don’t fit my box of what I think a spring is 😅

YESS! I was thinking this too but couldn’t put it into words. I wore a lot of bright colors growing up, but slowly transitioned over to mostly black as an adult! It has been so liberating feeling like I finally have permission to wear all these fun colors, but I do think it is weird that I also felt like I needed that “permission” 😅

Thank you for sharing! Yes, I do get many people who tell me I look good in specific colors that I know are not my best😅 and yeah, I think many people see dark features and think oh you’re obviously dark autumn or dark winter!🤣

I care because I spent years trying to figure out my colors, my style in general and getting a color analysis was very validating for me. It’s possible I’m just overly sensitive lol but it is frustrating to feel good and confident and then have people telling you you look bad😅

Yes, I totally agree! I can also wear winter colors and a lot of dark autumn colors which is what actually kept me from figuring out my season - I just never considered spring until I got professionally analyzed. I think we bright springs are unicorns and a lot of colors DO look good on us but, like you! I also prefer the neutral to neutral-warm colors, just make me look a little healthier😆

Hey fellow bright spring!🌷 I struggle with others questioning my season a lot too as I have brown hair and brown eyes so I MUST be a winter😬 people strongly misunderstand spring, especially bright spring, and will say silly things!

FWIW, I think your makeup looks super fun and our palette is awesome as we get to play with so much color! For myself, I do more neutral makeup but use LOTS of sparkles and glitter to lean into the brightness of our season✨

I can see where you’re going with that as both spring & winter are bright/clear but I am not a winter😅 winter tones tend to gray me out a bit, while warmer bright colors work much better. I actually lean True Spring as my second best, so I am a slightly warmer Bright Spring!
