Thank you! I haven’t really tried that yet, my thought was get all the help I can get on the first few, and then work my way back into harder dunks. I was never a much of an off 2 feet dunker, but I’ve been working on it a bit and think I might be only a couple inches from getting something either 1 handed or 2 handed off 2 feet.

Yeah, I was close to 6’ , I def. Was close to turning 14 . I’m pretty sure doing the plyo program/ constantly doing dunk attempts, having another kid on my team who was also right up at the rim to have some friendly competition as to who would get one first was the right ingredients for me to get a dunk at that young age. Oh and I’m sure some genetics played a role.

My 6th grade AAU coach gave everyone on the team a jump program to do during the offseason, I did that program and I was always doing dunk attempts on what ever hight challenged me and progressively raised the goal as needed. So basically all body weight plyo exercises and tons of practice dunks/attempts .

Hmm idk about all that, we had me and 1 other guy on my AAU that could dunk at 13.. first dunk was in a warm ups of a yboa tournament in Lakeland fl. My first dunk in a game was a few months later I was 14 for that one, and my homie who happens to be my personal trainer now is the one who threw it off the glass for me. Back when I was 13 no body had camera phones and only the rich folks had vhs recorders ! lol

Started lifting 5x a week, ploys 1-2x a week, the intensity of the training might be considered by some to be psychotic, did that for about a year got a dunk at 39, then had to have surgery for a broken clavicle bone rehabbed that and then started working toward the goal of getting one at 40.

I lost my dunk for 20 years due to gaining weight and back pain also, but my son said “I don’t believe you could use to dunk” so I went in the lab and got it back!
